    Ah, the New Inn. I remember many a night stood outside the front with a pint. We also went in the White Bear, still don't know why, I never liked it....

    Back to nostalgia (which is not what it used to be!) From 68-70 our Friday night routine was: 7pm 22 bus from Wombwell, get off and visit the then new White Bear (I do recall visiting the old one on one occasion) play the pinball and have a pint. The pinball machine was based on American football. Next we went to the Saracens Head for a pint of Stones best and a game on the pinball. We finished of our evening in the New Inn where we filled up the back of he public bar and fed the juke box and played pinball. The last bus back was at half past ten. All pretty innocent really.
