I think it’s funny when they start talking about how they’ve got more qualifications than each other. Like the internet version of saying my dad is bigger than your dad in the school playground.

I’ve got no idea what the long-term effects of the vaccine will be (if anything), but the fact that the Medical and Healthcare products Regulatory Agency (MHRA) are expecting high volumes of Adverse Drug Reactions relating to the vaccine is more than enough to put me off.

Well that's not how medical conditions work.

I can tell you with great certainty that I'll have arthritic pain in my knees for the rest of my life - because the damage is done. People suffering long term effects of Covid are suffering from damage done to their bodies that won't simply disappear, its not a rash.

Talk about 'Pot calling Kettle' .... Exhibit A : YOUR post at #212!! Although I am sure with your ...ahem... debating skills you will find a way to deny it.

    You said:
"Anyone refusing it should accept that in doing so, if it endangers others, then their own personal freedoms should be restricted to some extent. What if we were talking about a highly contagious virus with a 99% mortality rate across all ages?"

    I said:
"And to justify his position of enforced vaccination for the harmless to many covid-19 he makes the bizarre statement about 99% mortality rate."

I won't enter any further discussion with you on the matter. I'll just leave the quotes there.

There's one or two on here with thinly veiled superiority complexes.

I'm getting sick of it to be honest.

I'm sick of people thinking that having a degree (I have two of them by the way, so not knocking academia) means that they are therefore suitably qualified on every ******* subject under the sun and know better than the scientists developing these vaccines. Comparing it to the Nazi regime is just disgusting, frankly.

If you don't think it is safe and have reservations, no problem at all with that. It shouldn't and won't be compulsory. We have however been here before with MMR/autism scaremongering and look at the damage that did. There is having an opinion and there is trying to influence others with this false sense of intellectual superiority.

**** me. You are no different than the ******* Karens on Facebook thinking they are experts in absolutely everything. Can't wait to see the outrage when someone does the same about a subject you are actually qualified to give an expert opinion in, because let's face it, you all will be shooting that down very quickly.

Time for me to step away from any more of these ridiculous debates.

I've got a mate who's got more degrees than a thermometer.

He refuses to accept that we landed on the moon in the 60s and 70s. He used to insist the earth was flat, until his wife persuaded him to go to Hawaii a few years ago, after which he changed his mind. His wife has an incredibly short fuse which, when combined with several vats of red wine, usually results in carnage. My mate insists that his wife's personality has been permanently changed by exposure to 5G radiation, even though she never goes out these days and there's no 5G where they live.

Oh, and he doesn't believe that covid exists, it's a government control mechanism to stop us going out. All the figures, including deaths, are fabricated. As I'm a (former) electronic engineer, he asked me whether it would be feasible to make a GPS chip which would fit through a normal vaccination needle.

I'll let you use your imagination to work out whether he's willing to have the vaccine, when it comes out. He's a complete and utter loon.

I've also got two degrees and can honestly admit that I still know absolutely nothing about football (and practically anything else, for that matter!)!:D

As a former electronic engineer please could you explain how these Microsoft 'Cryptocurrency Systems using Body Activity Data' would be fitted and what real world purpose they might actually be used for?

You should really qualify statements such as the MHRA are expecting high volumes of adverse drug reactions, with a link to a source along with some context. Otherwise, you are part of the problem of misinformation being spread, which will help keep us in this mess for longer than we have to.

For example, a quick search on Google, pointed to this quote being part of a release about an AI contract being given out to help assess the nature of the ADRs, one quote from here:

"The MHRA told the Financial Times that based on historical vaccination data, it is expecting between 50,000 and 100,000 ADR reports for every 100 million doses delivered to patients over a six to 12 month period. The regulator also stressed that an ADR does not necessarily mean a true side effect has been observed, and AI would help spot any emerging safety signals." And the FT link

I'm against compulsory vaccinations, but the cherry picking of quotes out of context to put people off choosing to be vaccinated, without providing context to allow people to change their minds is dangerous.

Here's a link to the full patent application. It's a really interesting read.

    https://worldwide.espacenet.com/patent/search/family/067396975/publication/WO2020060606A1?q=pn any "WO2020060606"

This is my favourite part. I find it fascinating that brain activity and blood flow data could be obtained from someone by way of an in-body sensor and used in cryptocurrency generation. It would be a great way to keep track of employees and make sure they only got paid for doing what they were supposed to be doing at work, eh?

    upload_2020-11-16_14-53-24.png

I also like the coincidental use of '666' in the patent number because I'm a horror movie fan and it reminds me of the Book of Revelations 'Mark of the Beast' in the Omen films.

Sorry.... It had already been linked to by Extremely Northern earlier in the thread and I assumed people would have read it already.

Here it is again though for people who missed it first time around.

I've cut out the relevant bit for people who can't be bothered reading through it

As you can see I was merely quoting their own words rather than attempting to spread misinformation.

Thanks for posting the source. But I think it still misses some context though. High volumes of ADRs would be expected as extremely high volumes are expected to be administered, which is why they are giving out that AI contract. Some of the reactions won't actually be valid, the valid ones would have varying levels of severity.

Overall, assuming the a vaccine is approved, you would hope that enough info to reassure the public is provided.

WTF ?? Is English your second language? How on earth does putting forward a hypothetical case of a deadly disease with 99% mortality reinforce my position of enforced vaccination for Covid (which clearly is NOT fatal to 99% not even close!. In fact show me anywhere in my posts where have I stated that it should be enforced even for that hypothetical 99% mortality rate pandemic. Furthermore, if you actually took your head out of your ar*e for a minute and looked at my posts you would see I stated it should not be mandatory. For clarity ( you obviously need help in that area!) The personal freedoms referred to were, for example, restricted overseas travel for people who refuse the vaccination (as already exists in some countries with yellow fever problems)

I don't care how many qualifications you have, how intelligent you believe yourself to be or how important or responsible job you hold down but you come across as either a troll, not very bright, or simply trying to be 'clever' when you cannot grasp or understand basic statements in plain English.

    O
It is similar to media reports of high number of infections compared to the 1st wave.. Using Trump statistics..."Too many test make us look bad".

Italy media (at least locally), has started to focus on % positive per day relative to number of people tested for the virus. What has been happening is Sunday figures for new cases has been lower only for it to increase the following day(s) howver the % of positives per day has varied between 29 and 33%. This gives a better idea of whether or not lockdown and measures are working rather than just daily confirmed cases which again is entirely down to how many tests are carried out on a particular day. the problem is they are not headline grabbing like "30k new cases today!"
The first wave was IMO underestimated (underreported) massively due to lack of testing - evidence of which was that hospitals were swamped here but in spite of much higher reported cases this time around they are coping with fewer admissions suggesting, since the hospitals here are no better equipped/staffed to manage now than the 1st this 2nd wave is NOT as severe as the 1st one

And yet I'll never be the selfish hypocrite that you are moaning about the nasty nasty immigrants whilst loving abroad and moaning about people not wearing masks whilst admitting you are such a selfish ******* that you refuse to wear one properly.

I might be thick as ****, I might work a manual job and have **** all in the way of qualifications, I may not be an intelligent person but you know what, I'd rather live a basic life just getting by than be the nasty selfish hypocrite that you are
