Anyone got the link to the video from Walsall in the play offs. It was one a fan recorded from the East Stand of both of Winnall's goals. Its one of my favourite videos as the audio on it is quality. I can't find it on YouTube though.
Loved Adam's Wembley goals, especially the Millwall one. Never to be forgotten. One of my favourite goals was early 80's, King Ronnie heading clear in his own box and 7 seconds later popping it into the back of the net. 8:07 in the link below. I think the other reason it sticks in my mind is it epitomises that era ...... every time he got the ball the crowd was like "go onnnn" and it got louder and louder as generally something magic happened. Also, what strikes me about that goal is his pace and energy - not bad for someone who was immobile. Like Hignett the first few yards were in his head, and that is what made it count. King Ronnie's goal (our 4th) at Millmoor was similar if you watch. It breaks down the right at speed, and as the ball is spread left at pace, RG is barely even in the frame (3:52). Yet he pops up 4 seconds later to pop home the rebound. Halcyon days.
King Ronnie was definitely quicker than a lot of people gave him credit for as you rightly say. I love this goal. He heads it clear, then sprints full speed until he receives the ball in the opponents half. I love King Ronnie
I could watch that all day! Another great one that's forgotten about, is one of Adam Hammill's. It's another I can't find on YouTube. Didn't he score a perfect hat trick in a friendly with Huddersfield? One of which was a over head kick?
Think this was the first live Reds goal my lad ever saw. We were right in line with it in the East Stand / Family Stand ......... this was maybe his 2nd game after a boring 0-0 sat in the Ponty. A very under-rated goal in my opinion.
**** me, Andy. If Ronnie was immobile, I’d like to have seen what he could have done if he’d been able to run!
Ahhh this is the one I was talking about here. Not a perfect hat trick in the conventional sense, but a bloody good one, nonetheless
