People refering to things being "organic" when quite clearly they haven't got a fùcking clue what they're on about.
Language will always change and new words appear but what’s dangerous is the widespread use of words used in order to impress, that are totally meaningless business speak. Fine if you’re in business but now its everywhere. In my favourite CV the applicant described themselves as a… “High speed connector developing actionable insights to further missions and fulfil destinies.” Bin that one. With politicians coming out with this kind of crap (‘multi-layered modularity’ used to describe the NHS structure) it’s no wonder people could relate more easily to Farage, Johnson and their slogans. I remember one bloke saying ‘they speak my language.’ Well, they do, because its language you can actually understand.
What would you prefer ...... shrinking violet ??? What about ...... doing a Chamberlain??? Are any of these any good ?
Why do you have to throw insults at someone who has a different opinion to you at all? This is quite ironic based on your post from last night.
Two of my pet hate words.. People replacing the X with a G, well highlighted over the past few years with pronouncing Brexit as Bregzit. Another is where people use what sounds like pacific instead of specific.
What about young and often southern people who refer to footballers as ftblrs, not in text speak but whilst talking?
Definitely with you on this and I’ll include Keckle I’ll add..Happy clapper and folk that are now calling corona... ‘rona
When I worked for police used to drive me mad people saying burgle-ry. And generally on facebook people putting has instead of as and "alot" as one word.
Just as bad is boomer as an insult to middle aged people. Usually used in conjunction with pension rights.
