I have signed up to be the volunteer Barnsley FC contributor for a new start up sports site that a twitter follower of mine has started up. The page is https://thefootballfansview.com/ Initially it will be used for match reports from real fans to get an inside view on each game etc. They are aiming to get a writer for all clubs in the BPL and EFL. Be nice if you could check it out and give your thoughts. My first report will be live tomorrow after the game. Any feedback would be appreciated. I haven't done any sports writing before but has been something I have been interested in for a while so seemed a good opportunity for me to get involved.
You may have to go a bit OTT on this report at least then we know you will have followed the ball in motion. Good luck hope its a pleasure to report on and not a dreary 0-0.
Good luck Nathan. Trust me you will have a feeling of great satisfaction in seeing your report in print. Following our previous defeats at Wembley to Ipswich and Cardiff, on my return home following our Johnstone Paints Trophy final win, I committed my thoughts to paper and sent a condensed report into the Barnsley Chronicle. I bought the paper the following Friday and was disappointed that it hadn't been included with all the other comments from Reds fans within the sports pages. That feeling was soon replaced with one of pride when I spotted that it had been selected to appear within the letters page within the main part of the paper.
That's awesome can imagine how buzzing you were. I am very much looking forward to hitting publish for the first time this weekend .
Some advice, start early you don’t want to do a job like this last minute. At least get the first half done up front. Summat along the lines of, Barnsley bossing the game, ref blind, we never get given pens (well not till this year) , need a hairy arsed striker, screamer from Mowatt ...
