    Conversation

TW@TS “ Good day. I’m now in charge and here’s what I want” ——-speech.
Pleb. “ But some of those things are impractical. “
    T. “Well . Do as I say. Pleb”
    P. “ But I’ve been here since god was a lad. Put more hrs in than contracted. Have vast amounts of experience very rarely take a break due to pressures of the role . More and more work being dumped on my lap.”
    T. “ you are allowed a toilet Break aren’t you”
    P. “ yes, but if I take more than a nano second. It’s deducted from my pay”
T “ mmm I’ll look into it. Should be a time and motion (pun) exercise,”

    3 yrs later.
    T. “Hello pleb. We spoke 3 yrs ago”
    P. “ yes and no one has done a time and motion. Since we last spoke.”
T, “Really some heads will role, I will see to it.”
    P. “Thanks”

1 week later. Meeting of TW@T and lower management.

    T. “ who is that that allus complains”
    MM. “ trouble causer”
    T. “ Well, you know what to do”
    MM. “ Erm ok.”

Next day MM calls Pleb into office.
    P. “What’s this about have I done summat wrong “
MM. “ don’t sit down. Here’s your P45 contact your union if you want to appeal.”
    P. “But the company doesn’t recognise unions.”
MM “ How silly of me to forget. BYE “

Endorsed by George Orwell as a book that should be on the school curriculum. The Ragged trousered philanthropist. I know I keep harping on about it .( But I encourage everyone to read.)That is into the rights of the working classes. Used and abused.

    Im not really understanding this.
But I’m guessing that you (or someone you know) got the sack because of speaking up.
Obviously if someone continuously complains and whips the others up then that can be a problem.
But people should be able to talk openly with their bosses.

    As a rep.
That example I wrote out is rife.( With a touch of humour and ott but still stands in a lot of cases) but whether I’ve been involved in situations or not. ( through confidentiality I’m not at Liberty to talk about individual circumstances) To think it doesn’t happen is naive. To say the least.( Those in unions will hopefully get that protection. ) In today’s hire and fire culture. It is commonplace.
The Tory party would get shut of unions at the first opportunity. Putting in laws that restricts a persons rights to challenge.
And yet folk still vote for em. It’s like turkeys voting for Xmas.
Unions still have influence within the Labour Party to try do what’s best for not only their members. But the whole of society. And if you don’t understand that god help you. Cos that’s what you’ll need.

And those who have called for lockdowns and restrictions are only making this worse.

Do the extra work or we will have to make you redundant.
There are lots of people without a job you know.
We need to cut costs so half the workforce is furloughed the other half must do double the work

Etc etc happening daily up and down the country
