Think I'm getting spoiled but the 7 goals from the stoke Huddersfield game looked so tame compared to the ones we've been scoring recently!
Amazing comeback from Bournemouth from 2 0 down. Horrendous goalkeeping for the last goal. Always thought Reading wouldn't be near the top all season.
I’ve just seen Middlesbroughs penalty disallowed for touching the ball twice. Now I always thought that until the ball had travelled one circumference from a dead ball situation, it wasn’t in play. In this instance, the ball moved only fractionally, so by my reckoning, the ref should have ordered a re-take , as the ball wasn’t in play when the taker touched it for the second time. If the ball had travelled a circumference, then he’d be right to disallow and give a free kick to the defending team. I’m thinking I might be wrong because nobody has mentioned it in commentary or the studio, and nobody approached the ref at the time. Is my memory of the rules slipping?
I think the rule about the ball travelling it’s circumference changed. It’s in play now as soon as its kicked.
Thanks for clearing up the circumference question but, again on penalties. Did anybody notice that after a re-take was ordered due to WBA keeper being off his line, the re-taken penalty was allowed to stand despite the Man U number 8 being in the box when the penalty kick was struck? VAR anybody?
Its Manure, rule is they always get them in their favour and if they do a rubbish one first time round they get another one. Don't think VAR changes that rule!!
I agree Helen, we can be more than a match for most teams this season looking at the last few games anyway.
