Hard to say. I think that the best XI to have represented us over that period would form a solid lower Premier League team, but that's probably the case with many Championship clubs. However, I think that if we do somehow keep a side together for long enough to get promoted, then when we do go back down (after one, two or five years) there's a strong chance we'll sail all the way through to. League 1. This is not exclusive to us, but we've seen many times that a poor, overpaid Premier League side cannot remotely hack the demands of the Championship.
We could have had 20 managers by then! Tbh, I can barely think to the end of this season. The thought did fleetingly cross my mind that us ST holders might be glad we had them this season despite no live matches as we win the play offs and are guaranteed our seats in the Prem next season!
This is one of the reasons why I have kept renewing in recent years even though I know that I can’t get to every home game. It’s that mad idea that at least my half way line seat is secure for when the billionaires come calling again.
This is very British, but I loved queuing for the ST inthe ponty in our promotion season, tremendous atmosphere .
I think by just being linked with Ballotelli it shows where the club is heading. In spite of relegation in 2018 the playing squad has been improved each season since these owners came in.
Can't agree with that. The team that were last promoted were way better than the team we put out last season, we went backwards. Hugely.
Depends on a lot of things like: how long will covid restrictions last, what are the longterm effects on income for our club and others due to covid restrictions, what players we decide to sell and for how much, how long the current owners decide to stay and who (if the leave) pass the club to. All said I think we're making progress and should be looking at Championship stability - mid table
Do you not think the side we have now is better than the team promoted. ? Apart from Pinnock I’m not sure who I would pick from that side over this. Maybe an argument for Moore to be in the squad. Prefer Walton to Davies. Sol and Anders to Lindsay ( vastly overrated) Not Browns biggest fan. Squad player for me. Imo. How many that have left would you genuinely give the shirt to . And drop in their place. ? The board learned quickly that experience was needed last January window. Could have been too late. But that’s in the past. Admitted it felt we went backwards. But that was last season . Not this.
This is definitely better than the promotion team, agreed 100%. Players worth considering: Davies for Walton. 50/50 for me. Davies got better season after season, could argue he's got more experience than Walton, but would you swap back? Don't know.... Pinnock - 100% would get straight back in. Moore - could be argued that his height would help up front in certain situations. Brown - the 3-4-3 formation looks like it would suit him, I loved his tireless running and creativity. Would Woodrow-Moore- Brown be better than Woodrow-Chaplin-Freiser? Don't know....
