That’s the reason why I turned to playing goalkeeper, I just needed to be near the goals

As I said yesterday, I don't think the ball was over the line and the fact that the goalkeeper stuck his hand up in the air and rushed off to the linesman appealing (getting himself booked) means absolutely nothing.

If anyone wants proof that their goalie either needs his eyes testing or was trying to cheat and get a perfectly valid goal disallowed here are a couple of stills from the iFollow coverage
As Victor starts to kick the ball it is clearly in
    upload_2020-11-22_10-56-6.png

Next frame As his foot contacts the ball it is sitting clearly on the line - for certain the whole of the ball is not over it though part of it looks to be over- Id say the ball was still in play by at lest 4 inches if the size of a ball is around 8.5 inches in diameter.

I never claimed it was nowhere near going out - of course it was close to going out so the claim of nowhere near is a inaccurate but at least 50% of the ball was in play so it definitely was not out and it could have travelled another few inches and still been in play.

It does look like you can see the line and as the ball is on the ground that suggests that more than 50% of the ball is over the line. Therefore, it's very close to going out of play

He needs to look on the BBC website under results. It definitely says Barnsley 2 v Forest 0 which
should tell him quite categorically, that to those that mattered re- the officials, the ball did not go out of
    play.

Put the tape measure away, mate. You've been watching far too much VAR. ;)

I refuse to be drawn on exact measurements. Suffice to say that it was close, but not close enough.

And to be fair, the keeper had every right to appeal - I doubt any keeper in the land wouldn't have stuck his hand up for that one. What baffled me more was why the commentator couldn't figure out what the keeper was appealing for - I thought it was pretty obvious why he was upset, even though he was wrong.
