Chinese Indian Pizza Fish and chips / kebab McDonald's (sorry) KFC (and other knock off chicken shops) What are the other realistic options?
Subway although I’d definitely just make a sandwich. Various pubs and restaurants do takeaways like Toby Carvery, Frankie & Bennys, Nando’s etc.
A lot of Chinese's tend to advertise themselves as Chinese/Thai. Is there actually a significant difference?
Massive difference. And there is a massive difference between mandarin and cantonese cuisine but you dont tend to get mainland chinese food here other than in the bigger cities (unfortunately)
Are we talking in general? Or in the Barnsley area? To expand on your list, near me there's also Greek, Mexican, Turkish, African, Bangladeshi, Cantonese, Japanese, Lebanese, Moroccan, Vietnamese.
In general. I don't particularly want one at the moment I was just thinking most people seem to stick to the same few so was wondering what else there was. Don't know why I forgot Greek when I was talking to the owner of the Greek gyros van that's based in chapeltown this morning.
Live in Sheffield and we often get sushi, Thai, southern Indian and Korean. Loads of options these days.
We have a total lack of good takeaways round our way (Doncaster) however there is very randomly an amazing Jamaican place in Bentley selling Jerk chicken and curries and a few other things I had never tried before - outstanding
i've been meaning to pop through and try that place, i used to live just opposite ( think it was a shoe shop at that time 60's/70's)is it goat curry or curry goat they do also
In Barnsley for home delivery, it would be nice to know if there is anything beyond the ones that you listed. Cos some weekends the choice seems so uninspiring.
I love Vietnamese. The balance of flavours and textures is fantastic. So fresh. Not sure if there’s likely to be an authentic one in Barnsley region. Thai is really good if authentic, though if not it can be really grotty. I do love a good massaman curry (beef and potatoes) but rare to find a really good one.
Top Vietnamese where I used to live in Kettering, now near Oakham, I'm partial to the local Napalese.
