Just bought a second hand xbox one x. Question for you lot in the know. Is the Xbox Game Pass worth it? Tbh I'm not a$ed about the online game play side of things. Will mostly just be single/double player stuff.

    Cheers...

Yes bearing in mind cost of new games - some great games in the back catalogue as well.

I've got it and share it with my lad

Game pass comes with added bonus of PC games too (including FM 2020)

Not only that, as part of game pass, they have just added EA games to it too.

Cheers. Do you know if the online games library for the console game pass is the same as the ultimate? I couldn't find a straight answer on the website..

Nice one cheers. Is that the ultimate or the standard game pass?

I think the PC games are only on ultimate if I recall...

But it's worth the 11 quid a month I think

Think so but you don't have access to Gold / live with game pass. You get 4 free games with Gold every month as well - some decent ones every now and again.

One of the reason I went full blown, was that I could share it with young un. And he was interested in both PC games and Xbox. (me too if I'm honest)

Just one PC game he was about to buy with his own money, microsoft flight simulator, was about 70 quid and some. But is part of the game pass.

So him on that, me on FM2020, if we bought outright, would have cost as much as the 12 month sub.... that being just 2 PC games.

Not that I'm trying to sell it, but just thought after 2 or 3 months of making my mind up, I just went for it. So far no regrets at all

Yeah sound. We'll only be using the console, and I won't be rushing out buying stuff on release, but it looks like they have a decent enough library. All the halo stuff, rainbow six etc. But also looks like they hold a lot of stuff back, e.g assassin's creed, ghost recon etc. They've got an offer on for £1 for first month on ultimate, so I can give it a go, see what I think.

What's gold/live...is that online only / multiplayer? What happens if you join teams and you're $hite? I've got visions of people getting proper ar$ey cos you're not good enough at stuff..

Game Pass looks like ridiculously good value. I'll almost certainly be getting a PS5 at some point because most of the games/series I tend to really want are Sony exclusives, but sorely tempted by either an One X or a Series S for cross-platform.titles while I wait for the library to build up. If I had more time it would be a no-brainer!

Live is the online stuff against others.

Gold is the 4 titles per month that you can download and keep.

Generally 2 full games and 2 games from nostalgia. For example, SWOS was part of the nostalgia, as was monkey island. Ah the memories lol

I started with the 1 month trial the same. And when i saw the amount of games, I let it continue.

Only thing that worries me, I've a strange feeling that they may pull some games from game pass, meaning youd lose access and then to buy it (always offered at a discount anyway)

But so far that hasn't happened. Although they do notify when certain games are being pulled. I've yet to work out what criteria that is. Whether that be underutilised or, pulling a fast one with so many playing it. Time will tell

Yeah I'm assuming that will happen. Like Netflix I suppose, constantly rotating stuff. Which ultimately is good, as most stuff will probably be available at some point. Probably only a matter of time before the price creeps up as well. It seems like very good value.
