Ah! OK sorry. I agree that people find other things to do. Footy on a Saturday is a habit for many to the point where they (well at least I did) would go even if the football was rubbish and the weather terrible. There will always be the hard core of supporters who will brave it and return once things get back to something like normal, but you are probably right that unless the team are playing well and the results are coming it will become increasingly difficult to lure back people who have lost the habit. The FA EFL and PL off field are not exactly winning people over new and existing fans to the cause either, nor are ridiculous ticket prices for people who are being squeezed and will be hit by tax rises and higher prices for some time and see footballers being paid obscene sums for kicking a ball around.

Wedged in with folks post-Covid looks a very unappealing proposition, so far as I can see.

Not seen any one my football mates since March.

Wouldn't be the same if only a half/third of us could attend though.

Big aspect for many is the social side of it. I would love to be back in Oakwell but if I can't wait with my mates then I'm not bothered.

I love going to Oakwell & if I get selected to go, then I will be there , I have rarely missed a home game for the best part of 60 years & I am chomping at the bit to get back .

I'm the other way, if its spaced out limited crowds it's less appealing to me.

Boris wants to keep the rules in until Easter Monday so if that really is the end of it we will have Middlesbrough, Rotherham and Norwich as our only three 'restriction free' home games this season.

    I can't flippin' wait.

Sure, it'll be different at first, we will have to take precautions, do as we're told, and a small crowd won't be as good as a normal crowd. But I'm pretty sure the feeling of joy that those in the small crowd will feel from being allowed back after this time, coupled with the boost that it'll give the players, will make for a positive experience.

Obviously there'll be more wanting to go than are able, so I'll trust the club to come up with a sensible way of making access fair and be grateful for what I can get, when I can get it.

Even better will be the first time we're all back. I kinda hope our shared experience will mean we don't take for granted what we previously did, and the atmosphere at Oakwell will improve as a result.

Without sounding pervy... One incident I remember from the Prem season was that when we won a big game (cant remember which on)e, my 10 year old daughter had a season ticket with me and when we scored she ended up hugging the man next to her and I ended up in a big hug, jumping up and down with the stranger next to me as the regular season ticket holder had lent him his ticket as he could not get to the game.
I remember during the old days of terracing in the Ponty behind the goal, it was a common sight to see men hugging each other when we scored. It was that sort of camaraderie and socialising that is totally missing with social distancing. The shared joy when Barnsley score, particularly when it is 'Worldy' like the Barnard one from the Huddersfield drubbing. I also remember the Barnsley fans dressed as the seven dwarves of the return match at what was then called the McAlpine Stadium. All that banter and 'connection' with fans is what make live sport 'special'

Still happens now at big times in games. i specifically remember the last minute at Millwall, Cardiff away under Flitcroft and Millwall under Stendall... perhaps even after Múller vs Preston at home.
