Funny story about my first Rugby League experience back in the 80s. One Sunday morning me and a mate decide to go to a Featherstone Rovers game as we'd never been to a Rugby League game before. Drove round Featherstone for a bit (it's not a very big place at all) and then asked someone if they knew where the Rugby ground was. They looked at us gone out as we were parked directly opposite. **Please note it was before satnavs and mobile phones - that's our excuse anyways and sticking to it. *** Also note there aren't any floodlight pylons sticking up like at football grounds lol
It did look like that actually happened The Wigan lad only had to knock the ball out of play but seemed to freeze. Brilliant game though great advert for RL
me and our lass follow castleford, every game, home and away, if you are ever nearby you are welcome to come, its ace miles better rthan a football match and since they brought the golden point in , where there are no draws , its made a already exciting sport even more exciting. another plus side is you can stand on the terrace all match with a pint in your hand
Me too Ian. About 4 years ago I was talking with my boss and mentioned I’d like to see a game. “No problem!” he declared and 2 days later a ticket for Castleford v Hull the following Friday. His neighbour’s daughter was the girl friend of James Clare. Got to support them now.
Sounds great mate and I will keep that offer in mind. Once this covid situation subsides and things get back to a bit of normality I think a rugby league game has to be on the wish list. A weekend seeing both Barnsley and Castleford would be ideal
