Why and when did we start using this tune? Can’t remember now. What was before it?

Not sure if it was immediately before it but it used to be the Clap Clap song.

I like Timerider, it reminds me of our promotion to the Prem and gets everyone clapping together.

So is Z cars at Everton but like Timerider gets people on their feet. 35k clapping along at Wembley in 2000 got the hairs on back of your neck standing up

Same when we played Cardiff at the new Wembley. Amazing the difference a decent sound system makes. Never heard it so loud and with all the bass.

This is awful. I'd rather have Conway lead the team out to Eye of the tiger draped in the stars and stripes than this nonsense, and that's saying something.

That wouldn’t have happened very often I’m afraid - Macca was rarely captain. Phil Chambers was captain and led the team out. Seem to remember Macca’s superstition was to come out last.

Coming out to music was started by Allan Clarke.

Before that, the team had vaguely wandered down the tunnel. He got them coming out to “You’re the one that I want”, a smash hit in the Hit Parade at the time. The team then made their way to the centre circle and saluted the crowd, as Clarkie was used to at Dirty Leeds.

Might seem naff now, but was wonderful at the time. We’d never had anything like it.
