I think Chaplins best quality is being able to fly nicely under the radar while others around him take the flak. He's not a bad player but I think it's fair to expect much more from him if we are to improve as a team.
He's way too inconsistent for me,shuffling Chaplin an Thomas ( or god forbid playing them both at once like today) produces a lot of huffing and puffing but rarely looks like blowing the house down!
I disagree that he flies under the radar. Fair enough to say that we need him to score but he's not a shirker and makes opportunities for others. I just find it bizarre hes getting all this flak when he was the one getting the ball and not Woodrow who was anonymous today.
Reminds me of chris dagnall tries hard scores every so often but is he championship player? Jury's out. Maybe I'm been harsh because we have many players who fall in that category gambles from the owners.
I'm not really judging him on today's performance but more in general. He strikes me as another nearly man but not to say he won't improve and hopefully he does.
