I think yesterdays match he's been the most anonymous since our new coach's arrival. I don't have the same level of concentration each time I work, so I suppose its no different for players. It's the managers job to change things if that's impacting on the game. As far as I'm aware he trains hard and is committed. He's scored 4 goals, one a penalty that was hard to keep his concentration for given Soli's injury. If he wasn't playing we'd miss him big time.
Woodrow is delivering. Hes scored 3 goals and got 3 assists in just 7 games since the Berk left and hit the woodwork several times too. You are judging him based on his lean spell played as a midfielder by an incompetent manager
@JLWBigLil didn't compare Woodrow to Dyer at all. He said he's the best striker we've had since Bruce Dyer. Big Difference. You really should read what people put more before posting
He's the best thing since sliced bread in my opinion. My bacon on Woodrow sandwich was horrible though this morning.
I wouldn't mind seeing Styles played further foreward in the team, I think he has far more quality than Chaplin which could benefit Woodrows game.
I think we played well yesterday. Even the Blackburn commentary said that we were the best team they’d seen at Ewood Park all season. Chaplin didn’t have his best game, but linking with Woodrow, Brittain, Styles.... he caused the defence problems throughout the game.
I said I believe Woodrow is the best Barnsley striker I've seen since Dyer and I mean it. It's also my opinion Dyer was the better striker of the two. As Hammill was an out and out winger, I won't make a comparison between the two.
The service into them isn’t the best at best of times. We give the ball away far too easily. Always trying the Hollywood ball!
He made 37 appearances last season & has been in & around the side this season , he has more opportunities than his performances have merited & for £1.2 million Derby have had our pants down
You say he is not good enough for the championship, then can I ask you , if he was to be sold , would he be sold to a club in a league lower than ours ? & would the fee reflect that , being that you think he is not championship class . I am curious to see what level you think he should be playing at & what transfer current transfer value you would put on his head ?
I agree. When he has come on, he seems to have been part of our few goals. He may not get the official assist, but he is the assist before the assist.
I think that, in general, we have been woeful in shooting for the past 2-3 seasons. I apply this to all our players. I've lost count of the games where our total shots have been double, or triple, the opposition, but we have often lost. We are hopeless with most of our shots. Often we make the wrong decision with the final pass, therefore missing the chance of a shot, which would make the statistics even worse (or maybe better, who knows).
Its you who is saying he is not Championship class , I have asked you some simple questions & value your response , however you have ducked the questions , which says it all really .
Tend to agree, but Woodrow has to start being stronger when attacking balls that come into the box. Watching the recap video reminded me of a free header he had from around the penalty spot, and he skied it. After years of complaining our delivery at set pieces is no good, we seem to have got that sorted, but cannot do anything on the end of it.
Our club values him high so unlikely a league 1 club would pay that money. But there wasn’t exactly a queue of championship clubs wanting to pay it either. If you think he’s so great then tell me what’s great about him. He has 4 goals and 2 assists in 10 games. I’m not saying he’s rubbish I just done get why people rave about him.
He has 39 goals in 90 appearances which is nearly 1 in 2 , he scored 15 goals last season in the championship with a struggling side & has already scored more this season than the other strikers put together but I reacted to you saying he is not championship class . I was delighted when the club got him to sign a contract extension & so were most of our fan base , if you are saying he is not championship class then you are saying his level should be in a division lower , well it is only my opinion but I believe when he does eventually leave this club it will be for a club higher up the food chain & not lower.
You said he was "miles better than the overrated awful Woodrow". So you're wrong on two counts imo. Firstly, Chaplin is not better than Woodrow. Secondly, although Woodrow may be overrated by some, he isn't "awful".
