https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/55053251 "Controversial Penalty". Callum Brittain took on Kristian Pedersen on the right edge of the box, checked back on himself, fell to the turf and earned the penalty. Clearly implying a dive. Contrast this to the casual mention of a penalty claim against Brentford. although they did have appeals for a penalty waved away by referee Darren Bond after Victor Adeboyejo's cross hit Vitaly Janelt. No mention of the ball clearly hitting his hand. https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/54969156
Can't argue with their summary of the pen from last night. Looked a dive to me. And a rubbish one at that.
He tripped himself up. I couldn't see any contact at all when watching the replays. Swings and roundabouts though. **** happens.
Payback time for the Brentford one then. They say things even themselves eventually. Who was it famously said "It was a penalty, look on the results page"
We were lucky last night IMO, not a pen. The Brentford one was a nailed on one. We were due a bit of luck, which we had for both goals TBH. Woodrow's despatching of free kicks is incredible. He's starting to get a total together for the season & looking more like getting more in open play too.
Some you win, some you lose. At least we are getting some spot kicks this season. Makes a pleasant change.
I actually thought the Birmingham guy clipped him ever so slightly but there was enough contact for it to be a pen
I thought it was a pen. I'm obviously a better fan than all of you. Have a look at Pederson afterwards when he is clearly pïssed off with himself for a silly challenge.
Nailed on pen for me. Clearly had his leg taken from him and was a silly challenge. Pederson didn't protest like someone who'd just been duped by the referee.
You don’t get penalties if you don’t get in the opposing team’s box. Strong build up play by Victor and then Brittain intentionally got himself into their box before taking on the defender. Clever play.
It was very hard to see how much contact there was. There was only 1 replay and it was from a rubbish angle.
Definitely a penalty for me, plus the Birmingham defenders didn't protest which tells you that they probably agreed with the decision especially those who were nearest to the incident.
