Whilst I totally appreciate how much our side is improving and the recent signings like Britain, Kane, James etc and hopefully more in January I will never forget who started our survival last year and fixed our defence... Michael fixed mads from making silly mistakes, he can be seen every week on ifollow motivating our players before, during and afterwards. He simply is a model professional and captain material if it wasn't Alex... Its easy to take for granted players who perform every week so on that note I'd like to say I think he's fantastic and I hope he stays for a few more years.
Somebody on Twitter is made up that we are looking at English market due to Brexit - he thinks players are better. As I pointed out Sollbauer was the main reason we stayed up! After a player like him from here will cost us a fair few pounds. Everyone will be looking at a smaller market - power is in hands of selling club. Dread to think what a similar/ experienced defender will cost us. Certainly won't be price he cost us
I agree totally with this. He's always encouraging the other players even in times of adversity. Would we have stayed up last season without him..... I severely doubt it
He brought everything we were lacking at the time - and would still find in very short supply if he wasn’t around: passion, determination, leadership of those around him, experience (including those nice little examples of the dark arts of defending), excellent reading of the game and good skills. Ausgezeichnet, Michael.
Never has a player changed my opinion on his ability over the period of 3-4 games. Those first 2 games he was Chris Hedworth material. He’s been immense ever since.
Really? I just thought their inexperience was causing them to be found out in games and then the obvious individual errors.Never faulted them in commitment though.
We shall try. Christmas starts when the wife gets back from Asda Carcroft with 20 bottles of wine this morning. Have a good one mate x
He was a cracking signing & is clearly our best centre back but we had turned the corner a bit before he came. I think it was December when Chaplin was on fire & we picked up plenty of points
we got it wrong before lumping Mawson and Roberts together, Both good defenders in time but not then and not together, we needed Kevin Long to bring some normality this time Sollbauer brought that extra know that enabled the others to learn off. Anderson looks far better alongside him, it’s a shame we won’t see how good a defender Diaby would have developed into
Enjoy, cheers mate. Ps There’s a cracking wine selection in Lidl Bentley if you’ve not been - meets Spicer standards
Ah ok. I think there’s a few Reds fans out this way. Me and @Chef Tyke are reasonably close by although he might as well live with @Merde Tete in Russia. Ive seen quite a few Barnsley tops in Asda in between the locals who tend to shop in Pyjamas and slippers. I have to dress down to go shopping. Sometimes see Mowatt in Asda so if @YTBFC wants to get me a contract drawn up I’ll hold him at gunpoint next time I see him.
