I'll be happy for our results to mirror the first half of the season and see where it takes us. I know people would be happy for us to finish above the drop zone. However, if that's the expectancy we're going to have a **** second half of the season to the point of it becoming miserable. It's a double edged sword in many ways is expectancy.
So do I an it will be followed by comments such as told you so , brought back down with a bump on social media ..m
3-0 away win at Fulham was fantastic last season but they weren't the teams we needed to be beating week in week out
Going back to expectations if we keep beating the "lesser teams" like we are doing we'll be close to the play-offs if not higher. The big teams will take points off each other. Going on at our current trajectory we'd go very close to having an exciting end of season. Going back to your point I agree it doesn't matter who the wins are against. There will only be another 8 matches against the current top six. That leaves a few matches that will be winnable. We could conceivably win the league without beating a top six club.
Another bogey ground but if the last 12 months have shown us we can definitely go there and get another monkey off our backs as they say
Id be happy with mid table. I have to go back to 16/17 season though, I honestly believe we'd have made the play offs if we didn't flog Hourihane and Winnall. If we keep our squad together in January and add 1 or 2 bits of quality then I see no reason why we cant get in the top 6 this season, its madness to think it, but its a bit of a mad season after all.
I expect top six. Anything else would be a criminal waste of the talents of Miller, Adeboyejo and Kane....
I’m amazed, and delighted, we’re doing so well. Mid table was where I hoped we’d finish at the start of the season and it’s where I expect us to be at the end. Two caveats to that. First, often you can’t pick and chose when you challenge for a top six finish. You just have to go for the opportunity when it arises. It may be happening now! Through a combination of a Championship of poor quality and a very feisty, energetic squad for whom it is very easy to see that, with a couple of quality signings, they really don’t have much to fear in this Division this year. Second, what appear to be a rather ambitions set of young players and an ambitious Coach. They will want to know, and see evidence, that this Club matches their ambition. If it doesn’t......well, we all know what happens then. I think January will be a very interesting month.
Very much how I see it. It will be first time these owners have encountered such a favourable position.
We have a very good, exciting young team. Valerien Ismael has arrived and managed to get the winning mentality into them. He's got players running through brick walls for him and the coaching team. We should be targeting mid table at the moment, and who wouldn't have taken that at the start of the season
The remit should change as targets are met. Leicester got to 40 points before they even thought about Europe. Then secured Europe before they thought about the top four, then secured top four before they thought about the League title. Success breeds success and is also relative to circumstance.
Exactly mate. Anyone thibking about us reaching the playoffs at the moment needs to have another think
Get to 50 points as quickly as we can and take it from there. If we're on 50 points with 12 games left have a dart for play-offs.
As long as we dont capitulate and go on the shittiest of runs to the end of the season I'll be happy. January is tough, but even if we get nothing, but dont panic, we have every reason to be optimistic to stay mid table. Say 12th/13th. Above that, is a bonus. It will certainly help us attract more players if we are well clear of a relegation battle I would assume.
