Just curious to how many have returned to watching BFC (even tho on TV) from the people who slagged the club off 12 MTHS ago

Me, I suppose? I had issues with the way I thought the club was being run right up until the end of the last transfer window. I saw just about enough in that window to give me cautious optimism that they'd learned their lesson. Still not convinced, but I'm back on board for now.

I don't think there's anything wrong with adjusting your opinion when the situation changes!

Why? Aren't people who criticise the club allowed to continue to support them anymore?

The ownership of the club is still opaque and offshore. The sacking of Stendel and manner in which it was done hasn't been apologised for. I'm unaware of the owners ruling out a move from our true home of Oakwell. And I'm unaware that the owners have actually paid fully for the club yet.

We seem to be moving back to something closer to James Crynes model of player recruitment. James Crynes approach for finding head coaches is pretty impressive (though I'd rather win less and play more attractive football) and it's obviously a positive that we aren't in the bottom three as looked pretty inevitable under Struber after the awful start.

My views of the owners are therefore unchanged.

I'm also unaware of the club releasing a statement denying their involvement in the Iran-Contra affair, the death of Princess Diana, or faking the moon landing. ********.

I was very critical of the owners around 13/14 months ago because of a) their dogmatic implementation of the transfer policy i.e. we only ever buy young, developing players and b) their poor communication (or lack of it). I didn't however say that I'd never go again. Much progress has been made since then imo, we have added some experience (what a fantastic signing Sole has proven to be) and the young players are maturing, albeit of course at different rates, and consequently results are better. Communication has also improved - it's not perfect but at least DM is communicating more regularly.

As others have said, there are continuing concerns e.g. the ownership dispute, future at Oakwell etc. but overall I feel much more positive than at that time. Others have also said this (in other threads) but we did get lucky last season with the timing of Wigan's administration imo. Relegation would have resulted in a big reduction in revenue, multiple player sales and set us back a couple of years BUT I'll take a bit of good fortune and we're certainly capitalising on it!

I recall a post in which you indicated that changed priorities meant you wouldn't in future be attending Kev. Has the Covid enforced absence altered your view on that at all?

I was at quite a low point in my life when I said that, but meant every word at the time. I'm in a much better place now.

We have a lady season ticket holder. ( hey up Carole :)) travels to most away games with Hoyland reds. Packed in more times than I’ve had hot dinners. Lasts a week. :)
