Well a win is a win no matter how unconvincing. Onwards to the fourth round and Sibbick and Williams got a run out.
The only thing soft about that penalty was the thinking of the Tranmere player to give it away. Ran up behind Thomas and pulled him back in the area. It only looked "soft" because of the stupidity of it. It was blatant.
It’s a shocking rule that if you pull a player down in the penalty area .... doh.... it’s a penalty. Hill will just have to come to terms with the rules. and we should definitely bill him for the damage he’s about to do to the dressing room and the worse damage he’s done to my ears during that game. See ya.....not gunna miss yer.
Exactly, anywhere on the pitch you’d expect a “Proffesional” foul..,, you just don’t expect the defender to do that in the area....
We got to watch it for free and I still feel we all deserve a refund for watching it. The score flattered us. Much to work on before next weekend.
Just looked an im surprised to see Tranmere are mid table in L2, thought they looked fairly solid, they turned up and gave us a game.
I enjoyed it. I’ve been enjoying watching the reds more and more each game. When I think back to last season, we’re a different team and then some.
I thought it was absolutely blatant. Stupid from the defender as there didn't seem to be any danger, but he made very obvious contact with Thomas while making no attempt to get the ball.
Dont know what all the moans are. Its the FA cup, famous for smaller clubs giving bigger ones a game. See Crawley Vs Leeds. We played on a poor pitch that maybe suited them. Players back from lay offs and plenty of time for young uns on the fringe such as Sibbick. Lots of changes in the game meant free flow would be limited. We scored two and kept a clean sheet. It was a tough sometimes scrappy but typical January cup tie. We won. Im more than happy with that.
Me too. I thought it was a really enjoyable cup tie. Tranmere made a real game of it, but our extra quality showed. It was a good, professional performance.
Me too, played some decent football, pretty much dominated, although did get away with a couple in the first half when Tranmere should have done better, but that was very much against the run of play.
