On loan for rest of season looking like, hasnt played a game for Stoke in championship this season. Hopefully does well at Rotherham if it goes through reunited with gus.
I was never a big fan of Liam Lindsay. Although I gave him the benefit of the doubt, because he was playing alongside Pinnock. I thought Pinnock was so good, he could make Paolo Maldini look inferior. He was one who I wasn't fussed about letting move on. And whilst it might not have looked like it at the time, and certainly in the first half of last season, we replaced him with a better player in Mads Anderson. For me, they're very similar, however Anderson seems much more composed with the ball at his feet. Both like a wayward long pass though.
Another with a career that's gone nowhere after leaving us and chasing the dosh. Partnering with Angus McDonald at centre half...
I thought he was over rated like Martin Crainie. In fact I thought the person who said he was the next Alan Hansen must have been smoking crack. Likewise if Keith Hill thought Martin Crainie was a Rolls Royce he must drive a Lada.
I always thought that Lindsay and Pinnock complemented each other. Lindsay was more aggressive and tried to win things in the air whilst Pinnock was the calm head who mopped things up. I really miss Pinnock.
Pinnock is the one of the best centre backs I have seen play for us, I would put him on a par with de zeeuw. Not including John Stones in this.
Pinnock was ridiculous. Completely unflappable and absurdly consistent. It's difficult to remember him making any mistakes - maybe giving away the penalty against Sunderland away, but I recall that it probably wasn't a penalty anyway
He looked a bit physically weak in his debut vs Morcambe. He didn't get a look in then for a good while & was a totally different proposition when he finally got his chance.
Pinnock was a class above in that season under stendel. And won players player and fans player of season no suprise he has kicked on at brentford since leaving. I thought lindsay was decent but overrated by some on here who said he was the next Hanson and off to the Premiership etc. I thought he would have eventually broke through at Stoke but it hasn't worked out for him
I always liked and rated Lindsay & was sad to see him leave. Then again, I like & rate Walton, Mowatt & Woodrow and I keep kept getting told how they are overrated, too. Perhaps I ought to stick to Quidditch.
