The fact that Derby were mentioned as interested in Alex did make me wonder where they were getting the money from, especially considering the funding stream that they used to get Rooney on board.
I wonder if Wayne will be deferring his wages so other people at the club can be paid, he,s only worth £170 million like...
The takeover has been dragging on, I thought they would have took over before the jan window and invested in the squad to avoid the drop. They should have been deducted points with Wednesday this season.
Lovely. Doesn’t seem two minutes since they were relegating us & chanting ‘we’ll never play you again’
Aaaaaaarrrrrrrrrggggggghhhhhhhhh There's a FB thread about them. I effing detest thick fans. There's a blowk (Derby fan) responding. Various teams fans saying they should suffer etc. Wendy Wigan Bolton mentioning their punishments. I piped up coz this one fan was trying to justify the non payment of players. I wish I could sit face to face with him for a pint. Regards the non payment these were his arguments or replies ....... priceless ..... "We''re waiting for the takeover money" I said you shouldn't have to...... There were a few more but the beauty was in reply to someone's comment "could have afforded it if they werent paying all that money to Rooney" His reply "thats not true, we don't pay him. 32 Red cover his wages" Well that makes it even worse when they're not even paying their top earner. Some fans are so blinkered it's untrue. Boiled my ****. Hope they get stung.
I hope the first points deduction is very large, because as always, whether deserved or not, it'll get cut in half on appeal.
They seem remarkably calm in view of the possible administration, points deduction on their forum they're such a big club the administrator will run them for a few years until they get bought The fact they no longer own their ground etc isnt concerning them either.
I’m sure they’ll wriggle out of it. The Wednesday debacle demonstrates that the rules aren’t fit for purpose
Stephen Pearce - Championship Director – Derby County On EFL committee, should be rather embarrassing (but it won’t be)that a board members club can’t pay wages. Should at least be made to step down.
The rules are ok, maybe not perfect but ok. It's the non-application of the rules that's the problem. Particularly in the Wendy's case, took them forever to apply the rules and then halved the penalty for no obvious reason. Contrast that to how Wigan were treated, it's not what you've done, it's who you are. Derby will get away with a slap on the wrist, guaranteed.
