@YTBFC you're doing a lovely job of it no matter your reluctance. The atmosphere created last night was almost worthy of being in the East Stand again and listening to the folk around me comment on the match. Only thing missing was a few pre match pints in No7.
Silly question but who's doing your job while you're doing commentary? Or are you somehow doing both at once?
@YTBFC I thought you were much better last night than the first one , so you're doing a sterling job. A few more and you'll be a natural.
There are three of us in our little team. During the 90 mins of a game, one of us controls social media channels (updates etc), one of us does the in-game graphics/photo uploads whilst compiling the match report for the website, and the third man films the game using our own video camera from an alternative angle - the Matchday Recap in-game footage. Last night (and at Norwich) we had to ditch the filming. So two of us did comms and the other did everything else. Not ideal. Tranmere came up to Oakwell recently, a L2 club, and they had three members of staff. Watford last night? About 12. Even a TV studio with a blonde lass presenting and ex-players as guests etc. Another world.
"Watford last night? About 12. Even a TV studio with a blonde lass presenting and ex-players as guests etc" Thats what premiership money buys you. You both did well last night with the club at heart
I enjoyed your commentry as much as anyone elses, going out of your comfort zone takes so much courage. Well done and thankyou.
I personally think there’s no better commentator at this level than Matt, I know the work he puts in pre match, but I’ve got to say (and I know I’m biased) but I think Whitey and Chris did a cracking job, it can’t be easy when it’s not your day job, well done lads,
