How is that allowed? It's not exercise and it's not essential? It's sitting for hours at the side of a river, lake or pond relaxing and having a nice day out. Why is that allowed but nobody else can sit in a park?
Sounds a bit fishy to me. As for having a nice day out. Have you checked the weather and temperatures lately.
Depends how and where you do it really, where I fish it’s busy if you see two other people and it’s more of an exercise because I don’t stay in one spot more than an hour. It’s good for your mental state too
I have packed in fishing after seeing a special needs kid bludgeon a rainbow trout to death with a wooden priest, the kid was definitely not on the top score list on whack a mole machine on Scarborough front
That's the whole reason I'm banned from parks in the first place. It's nothing to do with covid really
I went once, as a kid. Walked an hour to the spot, then on his first cast my mate got his line tangled up in the tree behind. Took forever to untangle the flipping thing. Then we walked home again. Never been since.
I suspect it's because you have to pay at most fishing venues and you don't want the poor land/pond owner to miss out on his income do you.
as a kid my dad took me, but was too tight to buy proper bait and we only had bread, never caught anything for a few hours ,then he fell asleep as he had been supping cans, by now I was bored and was playing throw stones up a tree with my back to the lake, turned round to see the rod disappearing into the lake, ran up to bank edge but was too late, my dad woke up and gave me holy hell for not watching the rod and we trudged off home, well after he finally started the cortina, moaning all way home that we must have caught moby dick and it was my fault, I loved him but he was a hard taskmaster my dad
sorry I have resisted for minutes but got to do it, if you catch covid on a golf course you will not die but could be a little under par , sorry but I had to
