My sympathy goes to you with your health , I hope you make a full recovery asap , but unless someone knows your circumstances how on earth am I supposed to know about your situation , there are no clues in your original post , all the best .
For me, Mowatt was outstanding. On a more personal note, I'm sorry to hear of your health issues. Hopefully, you'll soon be on the road to recovery. All the best.
Mowatt was instrumental to our win and never stopped; hope you recover soon though, football is important but health comes first so take care.
It's tainted love with Mowatt if he stays signs a pre-contract agreement with someone else n' leaves for nowt i'll think "you tw@t". If we sell him I'll back the board and be thankful he hasn't gone for nowt. If he signed a new deal i'd be ecstatic. What concerns me is the two negative variables aren't in the clubs favour. That said if he refuses a transfer he doesn't get a signing on fee. That would be a silver lining. We're definitely in a worse situation with Mowatt than we were Hourihane because we knew Hourihane was going. Villa coming in was a blessing financially. Mowatt's kept his cards close to his chest ( which he's every right to do). Just doesn't sit reight with me.
Hope you don't end up thinking he's a tw@t. The only thing a player owes the club that employs him is to give their very best in every game. I can think of a few players over the years who have given as much as Mowatt, but I can't think of anyone who has ever given more. I've no issue with the board either in whatever happens. I've no doubt they’ve offered him a contract on as much as they believe we can afford. If he won't sign it and they believe selling him means we can afford his replacement, either now or in the summer, then that's what they've got to do. To the OP: everyone who replied to this thread wishes you well. No one was being personal. All we're guilty of is defending someone we'd just witnessed run his heart out for the club we all love, who wasn't here to defend himself. Hope you're better soon.
I thought he played well overall yesterday. Certainly one of his better games this season. My only criticism of him is, because he isn't the quickest, he has a tendency to look for the easy pass backwards or sideways, when often he has time on the ball to pick out a player further forward. There was one instance yesterday, with about 5 minutes left, where he picked up the ball about 40 yards from our goal. A Norwich attack had broken down, and he had acres of space ahead of him. He had the opportunity to take the pressure off the defence a little, but without looking, he turned sideways. He was then forced to turn backwards and misplaced a pass straight back to their attacker. He often turns back into trouble, as I think he's over compensating for his lack of pace. I'd love for him to try drive us forward. That's my only criticism of him, he doesn't get us moving, and I feel that's one of the contributors to us lacking fire power up front. Other than that, he's a great asset to the team, and hopefully he'll extend his contract.
