Can't imagine the Queen would allow that!

Just wait till the Queen goes and they have to cancel Tipping Point! I'm convinced ITV cancelling Tipping Point is how we know the world has ended...

When the Queen goes I’m off up a mountain in Donegal for at least a month.

99 is a good innings. He looked like Palpatine in most pictures I saw of him recently.

It feels weird. The feller has been "king" in all but name for longer than I bet most of us on here have been alive.

You know what I mean, though. He was the Queen's husband. Usually, someone married to the monarch would be given the title King/Queen, like the Queen Mother was prior to Elizebeth taking the throne.

I struggle with that. I don't know if she will consider it.

She swore to a lifetime of service, and is nearly there. Not only that, through all that service she has had one man by her side in her shadow. He'd be a bit pi55ed off if she called it a day now when their chance of a few quiet years together is now over. I think if she was going to abdicate, she'd have done it when he stepped down four years ago.

That said ........ who knows what grief will do to her thought process? If she did step down, I have a gut feeling Charlie will pass it straight on to Will. Who'd want to inherit that role in their mid-70's?
