    Our Grandson, Jensen, is having his second birthday today. Sadly, both birthdays have been in lockdown, although, thankfully, he's unaware of such issues. However, both Crystal & I are upset that we're unable to celebrate with him and our Granddaughter Amara. Video calls have been a Godsend, but it's not the same.
    Once we're able, we'll definitely celebrate with hugs, cuddles and presents.
    Another thing is that exactly three weeks after Jensen was born, Barnsley won automatic promotion from Division 1, after Portsmouth & Sunderland lost their games in hand that Tuesday evening. I give Jensen a huge amount of credit for that! :D:D

    Whenever I've been asked what I've achieved in life, I can say I have helped bring up a son and daughter who are far cleverer than I and have developed into much better adults in every aspect than their Father.

    I know the feeling only too well. I’m hopeful travel restrictions will lift soon allowing me to see my two grandchildren in Shetland. Been 16 months since we were all together.

    We were fortunate that my Grandson’s first birthday fell on the first day we were allowed to meet in the garden (29th).

    Whilst there’s been heartbreaking gaps in our contact over the last year, we’ve been fortunate they’re not far away and we’ve tried very hard to meet as much as we could, outside when necessary.

    We’re nowhere near as close to the little fella as we were to his sister at this age, which is a pig, but he’s young and hopefully this’ll mend and he’ll never know what he missed.

    Don't do yourself a dis-service old mate. If you've brought up a son and daughter to be outstanding citizens then that means that both you and Crystal are outstanding too :)

    I feel similarly, they’re not a bunch of lawyers or high flyers, but they’ve got decent incomes, good values, and they’re very close as family too.

    Must be awful for the both of you not being able to celebrate with him - let alone the more distant relationship with the grandkids. It would kill me tbh. But just think how much you can spoil them when we get back to some normality.

    We’ve been lucky enough through circumstances to be able to see our two - and then a third was born 6 months ago. It’s weird that he sees things like face masks as normal.
