His missus would have done better for that corner

I was thinking about this yesterday. I'm really surprised they didn't put a player on the front post. Anyone who has watched us will know the corner goes into that area more often than not. So really I reckon Warnock should shoulder some of the blame for not setting them up properly.

There were loads of them in the right spot, the Dike made a run towards the corner...

And took three defenders with him. :p
Chasing him away from the actual danger area.

they do though. There's 2 on the front post, one "marking" DK. The ball is half way on this still frame

I suppose I meant was having a man who stands touching the front post and stays there. What I saw was someone vaguely in the front post area but not standing on it, then a lot of people following Dike who just ran across the front post and completely out of the way. Nobody actually ever stood on the post.

Just seems odd to me that if you know every ball is going to go into that area you'd set up without a single person actually standing in that area (see picture which is before the corner has been taken). Seems like a recipe for disaster - but I'm not a football coach.

I was surprised how poor boro were yesterday. I fully expected a much tougher game from a Warnock side not mathematically out of it.

There was no shithousery, no physicality and little goal threat.

We were very poor in the first half, but they just couldn’t raise their game, even Sibbicks poor header resulted in a half hearted attempt from saville.

I’m not sure he’ll be there after this season.

They were really poor in the cup game at the start of the season. I put that down to Blackwell taking charge of them when Colin had Covid. But they were really poor yesterday too! They do have a lot of injuries mind. Losing Anthony Dijksteel seems to have weakened them defensively no end.

I think the simple answer is, he's just not a very good goalkeeper.

Maybe yesterday was Colins way of contributing towards our promotion push..by giving us the chance to gain another 3points without him getting accusations of cheating
He's already on record saying he'd love it if we went up as we would ruffle some feathers....
He's aware of the snobbery that exsist in the Premier league against small un fashionable clubs like ours....
So instead of slagging him ...feel the vibe and say thanks Col lad 3pts much appreciated.....glad you still love our club
Just hope Mark Robin's feels the same love vibe....lol

Can't count on Mark Robbibs unfortunately as Cov are still in relegation danger.

Ok, I’ll reword it. There was very little shithousery. Certainly didn’t impact the result.

To be fair, they were down to the bare bones, didn’t have enough players for a full bench

I’d be embarrassed if I was Fisher the amount of times he easily went down with very little or no actual contact

You would not believe how many times I had to reword that and pardon the pun, it still came up sounding wrong :D
