I work in a pub with a huge beer garden but we won't be opening. After 12 months where we have only bern allowed to open for 3 of them the expense of new outdoor seating and heating meant we weren't willing to risk opening outdoor only.

This is another reason it is wrong just to be opening outdoors. Pubs spent a fortune setting up for reopening last year , then there was the extra staff expenses. Now it's set up for out door drinking at the most changeable time of year weatherwise just for 5 weeks. There are plenty of pubs not bothering until it is indoors and I can't blame them.

I will be doing my best to support my local ;)

Exactly. Our regulars are dissapointed but fully understand. Paying out again and another lockdown would kill a lot of pubs this time. We took the decision to keep staff on furlough and open up when people are allowed in.

Can't get my head around this thread. Don't know if it's supportive, a wind up, a little dig, sarcastic, Warnock style mind games, or just a cure for the boredom we're all feeling.

BBS never fails to be unique.

Neither of my local pubs opening until May. Can't say I blame them.

I wont be going to the pub just yet. Want to see how any potential 3rd wave develops in next few weeks. Lots of people, young in particular, have still had no jab at all. Barnsley is also one of the worst covid hotspots in the country. I've had one jab but don't want to inadvertently bring covid back to my family because I'm being blase. Perhaps I'm being over-cautious but I would prefer to be so.

As long as folk sensible n follow the rules should be OK.

Pubs been open here in Singapore for a long time without any issues , even with restrictions in place.

Excellent but just a tad too far to travel for a pint.
Anyway anyone going for a pint have a good time. I’ve still a couple of weeks at least to wait.

It's -1 this morning and will be cold all day, but I've been at my desk since 6.30 with the intention of logging off at midday and enjoying a few pints of hand pulled beer for the first time since last summer. Can't wait.

2 o'clock in Barnsley 8 degrees C, light winds, full sunshine. Those conditions are actually quite pleasent if you wrap up well.

It's only if the wind picks up that if will feel really cold.
