If we actually achieved the impossible dream, that's IF,is there any of the current squad who you would.feel would be able to make that step up to playing at the highest level?

Like i said its hypothetical and nothing more.

I'd give them all a chance, and be careful with future spending.

I'd say Helik, Andersen, Brittain, Styles, Mowatt, Dike, Woodrow and Morris would all do a job for a lower prem team. Others like Sibbick and Palmer might have the potential to do so in the future.

Hopefully they all get the chance with us next season!

I think most of those moved on would be the players who cannot get game time at this level so will find it even harder to do if we get promoted.

They all deserve a chance, but footy is ruthless so if the gaffer / club decides to move on some fringe players - Chaplin, Venus & Serena, Adeboyejo and (esp) Miller then who am I to argue.

I've not been 100% convinced by Palmer at times (though he did OK Saturday) but strangely he might be better suited to the PL, so it's a yes from me? Brittain definitely deserves a shot. As do Kane, Halme and Frieser.

Up top, Woodrow deserves a shot, as does Morris. In goal, I would probably keep Collins of the two, but we'd need an established PL keeper (older and within budget) as #1. In defence I would keep Sollbauer (older head) and probably Oduor too - I rate him. And Sibbick.

From the others, it is not even up for debate in my mind - Mads, Helik, Mowatt, Styles, Dike (if only!!) should be nailed on retained.

    Opinions, opinions, opinions :)

(Oh, and I'd give the gaffer a chance too)

Took me a minute or two of head-scratching to figure that one out. I'm having a slow day...

When we win and play well I'd give them all a chance. When we draw or lose I'd say that none of them are good enough :D

Anyone struggling to get a look in this season, is bound to be moved on. Stands to reason. It’s even difficult to assess which of our ‘better’ players would fare. Jump in standard between Champ and PL is huge. Would any of our squad get in a PL starting XI today? Possibly Helik, dunno.

I don’t think any of our starting XI would get into a Premier League starting XI, but quite a few are young enough to be considered development players by most other clubs.

I think all our starting XI would give Sheff U a game, and man for man I don't see too much difference in quality.

We all pretty much know the thirteen or so front line players. Under any other manager I'd say not many are up to the Premiership though they ARE good players.
Under this manager I'd say quite a few could do a job.

Think we should keep pretty much the same squad but Val would have to come up with a different way of playing, no point spending silly money then getting relegated with players on big money contracts, hope for the best, prepare for the worst and if we get relegated the parachute payments would put us on a very good footing....

Mowatt, Brittain, Styles, Woodrow, Dikes, Morris, possibly Collins.

CB's not good enough (maybe Halme), would need at least 2 CB, 2 midfielder another striker or 2 to replace Chaplin/Adeboyejo.

If we went up we may do well first season & stay up as we’ve got a system teams aren’t used to playing against but after that it would get a lot tougher.

I might even say none of our players are good enough to get signed by another premier league club & play week in week out but collectively they might compete.

Burnley’s done well with a crop of players mainly signed from championship clubs & Sheff Utd & Leeds both did well in their first seasons up so it can be done.

Of our current lot I think we’d need at least 5 or 6 bringing in. More depth at wing backs, another keeper, another central midfielder & at least 2 forwards.

Mowatt, Brittain, Styles, Helik, Anderson & Dike are our best 6 players in my opinion & it’d be the players around them I’d want strengthening.

Tactics, motivation and sheer will to succeed will only take you so far unfortunately. I'd give most a shot in the prem but I wouldn't be surprised to see a lot of the current matchday squad move on early doors.

    Let's get there first though.

Not many would be out of their depth. The difference between the top of the Championship and the bottom of the premier league isn't that big really. A couple of quality players with premier league experience would in my opinion give us a shot at staying there.
