Called in a local pub at lunchtime. Sadly no real ale so had to make do with a bottle of speckled hen straight from the fridge. Had early symptoms of frostbite by the time I'd drunk it.....
Nope and no plans to do so. The scenes round here at some of the pubs were crackers - crowds and crowds outside, no distancing. I sympathize with those involved in the trade, but this is just nuts and will lead to another surge in cases and, quite possibly, another lockdown. Where is people's restraint??
I managed a few pints in Keswick tonight. Whilst the sun was on the beer garden it was fine and the place was rammed.. Roll forward a couple of hours and the temperature had dropped and very few people left. Drinking outside in summertime is fine but April is definitely not for those who feel a chill.
I love a pint or two or three or four but They'll not get me in a pub till I have had my second Jab and then at my age, I'll be very careful.
I went out for a bike ride this afternoon, saw a few pubs open (Swadlincote/Repton/Burton area) they all seemed to be quite ordered, no crowds, people seemed to be being sensible. Don't know how long that will last though.....
I was expecting that in Harrogate where I work, but not really anything of the sort, not so bad in Headingley either which I was surprised with when I went on my daily walk.
Pubs really shouldn't be open in Barnsley. Covid is still prevalent and there is still over 100 cases per 100,000. So if there are 50 people in a pub there is a 1 in 20 chance someone has it. Follow the data not dates.
Went across road to local for one at lunchtime, just to show willing as you do. Few people out but social distancing being well observed. Very nice pint of Chantry Steelos. Pleasant sat while sun shining but when it went behind clouds it was cold enough to freeze your nads off. As I say just had the one.
Visited a local country pub after a 4.5 mile walk just outside Romsey, Hampshire. Was about 8.30pm so a bit chilly but an enjoyable pint and a meal which I had to eat quick before it went cold!
No can’t see me bothering until they open up properly in May which coincides with my second jab. Bound to be full of pillocks for the first couple of weeks and it’s far too cold.
Saw a group of 5 or 6 people wrestling/fighting/falling over pissed* outside of the star in Hoyland about 7pm.. clearly had been on the ale all day... *not sure which as I was driving past.
Another surge in cases from sky news what nobody believes until covid came around. New normal and they will be more lockdowns regardless.
That's assuming that everyone who has it either has no symptoms or has symptoms but is willing to go to the pub.
Are you still talking about pubs or Primark? I say that in jest (although true) but a surge in cases shouldn’t mean we run for the nearest lockdown button. Covid isn’t going anywhere and with the vaccine it should remove the strain we’ve seen at peak on the NHS. If hospitalisations and deaths increase then we would have an issue, but that’s got to be at a net level not just an inflated Covid number. With 40% of pubs opening you can’t expect everywhere to behave, but judging by my granted very small circle it’s significantly good experiences over bad. Plus it’s outdoors. Even without the vaccine we didn’t get a surge last Summer.
Knew people would moan about the social distancing. Or masks etc Nearly half of the country is anti lockdown. So most of them have probably broken rules and had house parties etc....Still low cases. Pubs open with measures. Most followong rules but obviously they will be a selection who don't and boom cases rise. Whys that? For an excuse for another lockdown
