That’s extremely unlikely to happen so if you stick to your guns your last pub visit was in fact your last pub visit.
The majority of people going to pubs will I'm fairly sure be younger people, many of whom will have had no jab at all, and in Barnsley one of the worst covid hotspots in the country it can only be somewhat 'unsafe' at the moment regardless of many/most trying to be socially distant. I'll wait a few more weeks till I am sure I have virtually no chance of getting ill and virtually no chance of infecting anyone else. In any case there are,as JV suggested and Austiniho observed anecdotally, too many idiots and drunkards around at the moment. It'll be calmer and more pleasant in a few weeks. I've waited a year I can wait a bit longer.
So be it. I'd rather be able to see elderly family members safe in the knowledge I haven't risked catching a mutated variant from some antivax leper in Wetherspoons. I think there will be vaccinated only venues though, it is the way these things go.
Yes had a few pints in our local the Baxters Arms in Fenwick. Slightly chilly when the sun went in, but it was good to be out.
My nearest pub that I passed had everyone spaced out in the garden, signage outside stating how it was to operate etc. It was lovely to see and hear another part of normality tbh.
You're right about the shops; that's even worse! My heart breaks for you, mate. And Hicksy and everyone else in the industry - pub closures were bad enough before this came along - I hope you can all ride it out. Was just commenting on what I'd seen round here - daft sods paying no need to the advice, all to get some ale.
Nobody is looking for an excuse for another lockdown mate. Why would a government desperate for some good economic news to ease their problems with the brexit disaster, want another lockdown? It makes absolutely no sense.
I,ve said this before, when you look on social media, some folk seem to be revelling in the doom , gloom and uncertainty that the virus has created, swiftly shooting down any little scrap of positivity given to us by the media and replacing it with the impending armageddon, i genuinely believe some people would prefer to live like this permanently....
Lockdown fanátics. People who didnt have a life before Mar 2020 dragging everyone else down. And they're enjoying it too
Very harsh. People have lost loved ones to a new, highly contagious disease so I doubt they're enjoying it.
I mean the people on Twitter saying we're gonna have another lockdown just as life improves. It's like their addicted to Misery or something
99% of deaths occurred in over 50’s and those with underlying health issues. Less than 500 deaths amongst under 50’s without underlying health issues in the UK. Over 50’s and those with underlying health issues have had at least one vaccination dose. In a population of circa 68m there are between 10,000 and 12,000 deaths per week. People have lost perspective on death as up until Covid very little was spoken about the numbers Without a vaccine this disease has been horrible but the vaccination should change/ has changed things greatly. For those who want to go out and those who want to stay in it’s a personal choice but if they are abiding by the rules personal freedom should be respected.
Not wanting to be a wet blanket I have no desire to go to a pub as I simply cannot afford it. Since I brew my own beers from various reputable kits I can equate my pints or half litres to about 50p each. Completely drinkable and will give me the same end result if I want to. The idea of paying three quid for that is unimaginable. I can't do it anyway. I know I am not being sociable or helping the pub trade but what to do? Can someone please tell me what is the price now of a typical pint at a town pub and a more up market country pub.
We just need to jab the over 50's and those with health conditions before going back to Normal surely? 99%+ of deaths, prevent most of those and it's basically less than Flu
