Not sure of prices to be honest mate but for me it’s a social thing, catching up with mates I haven’t seen in ages plus stuck in my garden for god knows how long, I can’t wait for a change of scenery and just to interact with other folk over a nice hand pulled beer.

Ahh, the old Lockdown Fanatics rhubarb.

I presume that you describe those who are at the opposite end of the scale as Death Lovers or Funeral Addicts? Maybe OAP Sacrificers?

Both accusations are as bad as each other.

Had a number 4 haircut yesterday evening . Bloomin -1 this morning in Egham when I went out to work. Wonder if they'd object if I asked em to stick my hair back on ;)

You seem to think that lockdown = less deaths.

Nations like Belarus and Sweden had no lockdown.

    Neither did any worse.

    Different countries, different situations.

In this country we had lots of infections, lots of hospitalisations, lots of deaths. But lockdown reversed that trend.

    You cannot argue against that.

I never said anything of the sort. I simply said that the term Locdown Fanatics is puerile and small minded. Just like the terms I countered with. Both are as bad as each other.

Having said that out, you cannot argue that minimising the contact of people will reduce the spread of a virus that thrives on the contact of people.

What you can argue, is the policies over the last year however.

    It simply came back.

If lockdowns work, why did we have three?

If lockdowns don't work, why did we have three?

Saw a few beer gardens pretty full yesterday but also saw a lot of pubs that weren`t open or possibly not going to open anytime soon. Less pubs open would mean more punters at those that are.

I sampled a couple of ale houses after work, and whilst is was slightly chilly, in fact it was f***ing freezing, it it was nice to see old friends and catch up. That said though, the youngsters were not taking the social distancing and rule of 6 seriously at all, and given the amount of ale they had it was not worth engaging with them.

Three police cars flew over the railway bridge at Moorthorpe yesterday tea-time. Apparently there was a disturbance at the Barnsley Oak?

Just keen to add here that there's absolutely nothing wrong with those people who don't want to go to the pub. Be it for financial or safety reasons. What's been taken away from us the last 12 months is the ability to make that choice and we've accepted that far, far too easily and not done a good enough job of holding the government to account on that.

Everyone is different and variety is the spice of life but we should all be allowed to make our own choices and own judgements. Anyone feeling the need to be apologetic over not going out shouldn't be at all.

Surely they'd be helicopters or aeroplanes then?

This seems fair unless there is a surge of hospitalisations and most people behave themselves it’s got to be business as usual now. The Way govt has treated both the hospitality and arts industries is pretty shameful.

After the performance of the press during the brexit debate, I think it’s a leap of faith to believe the date at the top of the page!

And they,ll be tweeting it again soon when cases rise , even though we have been told by the experts that they fully expect cases to rise, its not particularly the cases that are important now, its the hospitalizations and deaths we should be looking at , as the massive majority of vulnerable people have had a vaccine and the current cases are in the younger people who are very seldom ill with it, infact really they are just positive tests rather than cases..
