Is it just me or does anyone else hate this tune? - seems so dated to me - personally, I would play something that suits the way we play which is fast and in your face - I am thinking along the lines of - Rock and Roll by Zep

What do you guys reckon and what song would you choose to fit our current style of play?

Mate, I despise it. I'd rather they walked out to silence!

It’s been done before though, and the outcry ended with it being brought back. Personally, I like it as it’s synonymous with the club and reminds me of my younger days. But I’d like to shift it back a little, play it in the build up, and have a different song as the teams make their way out onto the pitch. A song that changes depending on opponent / situation etc.

We’ve the power to do so, but as I say, the previous attempts and the feedback suggested the majority prefer Cocoon.

Can you imagine the first game back at Oakwell, against Man City in the Prem and we don’t play Cocoon? The natives would want blood. Even more so when we play Cotton Eye Joe.

Yep, its been done to death. And Timerider must stay. I think first game back, big crowd, and the build up and anticipation will dictate that Timerider has to stay.

It ain't broke, no need for a fix.

I don't mind it playing while the teams are warming up, but I can't imagine it inspires or motivates the players when they walk out to it. I dunno, maybe they're "in the zone" at that point and everything is just background noise?

Might be an idea to ask the players what music they want to walk out to, different player every home game. Could be an opportunity to put together a BFC playlist on Spotify over the course of a season.

If they need music to inspire them after Big Val has just had a word then they must be no hopers.

If TimeRider is outdated.... what is Led Zeppelin?

I'd say something by pendulum. Something fast, horrible and something you'd rather not listen to.

But TimeRider has to stay. It's one of the few things that gets the whole crowd clapping in unison (well as close as our fans ever get to being in step with a tune).

Timerider is known as our song and is a part of our history good and bad. You don't see Everton getting rid of Z cars just because the tune is from 1962.

This season, the tunes played during the warm up have been chosen by a different player, and put on Spotify.

Walk out tunes are all about tradition & emotion. Timerider in my opinion isn't great as a piece of music, but neither is the Z Cars theme, I'm Forever Blowing Bubbles, or whatever, so I think we stick with it....

    Led Zeppelin is timeless.

Timerider hasn't aged well at all, it was fine when Michaela Strachen was bouncing around trying to avoid Pete Waterman's grabby hands, but not now thanks.

And here is the subjectiveness of music. I couldn't even accurately name you a Led Zeppelin song.

And what's more timeless than something that rides time? ;-)

I love Timerider, I even play it at home, I tend to run out of the front door while it’s playing or even out of the bedroom first thing on a morning...ala Brian Glover style.
