I see the government are out doing a robust defence in regards to weasel Cummins allegations that the strategy was herd immunity... literally calling him a lier I’ve one question.... didn’t Johnson go on tv and say that we were intending to seriously consider going down the herd immunity route?
Johnson calling "Eye-test" Cummings a liar? Kettle and frying pan come to mind. Edit: That should read "A mountainous heap of kettles."
It's obvious to anyone with any intelligence that we went down the herd immunity course. Boris himself didn't take the virus seriously until he got it - like idiot Trump he thought that it would fizzle out in a couple of months. The Government policy cost a great number of lives, but like everything else with this administration, the voters fall for the bluff.
If I’d been an NHS employee and a constituent in one of the Red wall sell outs I’d have worded a strong letter to the constituents that voted these cretins in and asked them why they thought I was only worth a 1% pay increase when I’ve risked life and family to make sure they and their loved ones were cared for despite the Tory cuts and disgusting dealings in essential PPE to keep me and other essential workers safe .
Just as staggering is Cummings remarks that Johnson missed a number of crucial Covid emergency meetings at the start of the pandemic because he was busy writing a book about Shakespeare.......still the thick racists will vote for him though cos he got Brexit done and he calls black people fuzzy wuzzys.
Herd immunity isn't a strategy as far as I can see just a inevitable outcome. I seem to remember right back at the start of the Pandemic talk of mitigation and suppression as stages of the repsonse. We have flipped between the two and are now firmly in mitigation mode working under the assumption the vaccines will work.
Ohh but we can't call them thick or stupid! Apparently that's a reason why Labour lost! Gammons got all snowflake (as usual) about it and threw a tantrum, now we've landed with chief gammon johnson.
Interestingly, Mongolia has just caught up with the UK on the number of people (pro-rata) vaccinated with at least one dose - and they didn't start until March... To be fair, Mongolia are probably using the Chinese vaccine and only have a population similar to Wales, but its a good reminder that vaccination is a marathon, not a sprint and it isn't over until its over.
That’s exactly why they’ve voted for him even though they would argue it wasn’t . His incompetence in the pandemic and everything connected to it is unbelievably excused by these apologists . The reason the Tory’s won these seats is because of their racist overtones but make excuses it’s something else .
Cummings says that at the last election people had a choice between a government led by Boris Johnson or Jeremy Corbyn. He says any system that presents people with a choice like that has gone “extremely badly wrong”. Bit like a system that offers people the choice between being in or out of the EU eh Dom? Not that you had owt to do with that of course….
While I find his testimony fascinating, I can't help but remind myself that whatever we assumed Johnson to be last year, we also considered Cummings to be a lying weasel, desperately clinging on to the coat tails of power. I certainly shan't be hanging on his every word now.
If it shines a light on the worst and most dishonest english government (certainly in modern history) and something is done, I'll allow him his self indulgent fantasy just this once.
People will make all sorts of excuses to excuse or belittle Boris’s and his cronies dealings and decisions . Its either things like it’s only wallpaper or he’d do anything to get PPE or we all say something we didn’t mean and now it’s Only Cummins . Everything the racist does is excused mainly media led and like minded followers .
The biggest shock is that anyone’s shocked. Anyone with a brain knew Boris was completely out of his depth & Laura Keunsberg is still the only journalist the BBC have had to apologise for due to not been impartial. Shes a government spokeswoman & has been for several years.
