My office is in Sheffield (I call it missionary work).
The girls in the office are both De Dars and ridicule me for saying that my pie of choice in pie & peas is a pork pie.
They think it must only be a Barnsley thing to heat a pork pie and think it`s a grotesque notion.
I`ve offered to educate them with a Potter`s or Percy Turner`s but they won`t entertain it.
    Do I give up?

I'll be honest and say I like Pork Pies but can't stand stand them warm. I'd like a cold pork pie with mushy peas poured over but don't like the warm ones with the runny jelly.

Maybe suggest a Percy Turner's with some liberal splashes of Henderson's Relish on it. Top South Yorkshire 'fusion cuisine'.

Thought they were getting a batch in for the meeting on Thursday. A few Pork pies knocking abart is to be expected.

What if they`re still warm from the shop and the jelly runs down yer chin when you bite into them?

Always thought that the caterers at Oakwell miss a trick by not selling locally produced PP`s. Historically could have been Albert`s or now Potters or Percy`s.

Spoil it by putting Henderson's on it. At least the dee dah's might try it then ( and be converted)?

Just had a thought - in our current circumstances could a PP be construed as a lethal missile ?

Are you trying to introduce the Dee dars to cannibalism, surely pork products are banned in Dee dar land :D:D:D:D

Same, warm pork pies aren't great, the sloppy jelly is vile.

I think the warmth gives them a completely different flavour. You can taste the spices in the meat more when they're cold.

I love Percy's straight from the oven and time my visits to coincide but I'm not bothered about them rewarmed

The pork pies you used to buy in the old brewery stand in the 60s and 70s used to eject liquid jelly down your chin and neck which was hotter than what that there volcano is supplying.
