Okay the football isn't exciting, but for the first time in years we have solid foundations on which we can build, we're 4 games in to the season and we have 7 points, whilst still gelling as a team, normally we have to work on every aspect of our game because we're ***** all over the pitch, but at the moment we look a strong disciplined unit when we focus on being solid, and after Tuesday we know we have fight and can score when chasing or playing on the counter attack, it's going to take time to find a balance to our play and be a little more confident and expansive, but for the first time in a long time signs are there that we have the makings of a decent team. We're a team full of kids learning the game, and LJ it teaching them from the beginning, first and foremost be strong solid and hard to beat, then progress into a more attacking team as they grow together and confidence builds up. I'm pretty happy to give these lads time from what I've seen as I believe we'll improve month on month which is all I ask for .
We will be top of the league by Christmas, away from home with the pace we have playing counter attacking football we will win plenty of games, at home is going to be harder as teams will know about us and come to defend, we have to learn how to break these teams down which is where a new big striker, hourihane and Williams will be most needed and they will come into their own. "We will be top of the league by Christmas". Well at least you lightened my evening. Santa might not be calling at your house, if you shared your secret with Ladbrokes.
We are building from solid foundations. A great centre half pairing. A talented keeper. There are a lot of positives. We just need that injection of speed of movement and thought tha will transform us from a solid uninspiring team to a genuinely positive vibrant one that can go places.
yes nice one Tyke, i completely go along with that. maybe we are a so called work in progress (yet again!!) and its going to be frustrating for us all for a bit longer yet. but i do believe we are getting there and we could have won today. its not as though we created sod all.
We are desperate for an o Sullivan type that can break forward with pace and beat players give us a bit of excitement and make us less predictable. If they want 500 grand for him pay it cos it will transform this team!
Be even better with two then wouldn't, it, stop this tippy tippy safety first ***** and go for teams.
Didn't go yesterday but I suppose to anyone who has only seen our home games so far we probably don't look up to much, we were really expansive and quick on the break on Tuesday so I'm surprised that we didn't create more opportunities against Bradford.
i can only go by what i see. two games, probably about 3 or 4 shots on target, including a penalty. mind numbing to watch. still, take the positives and hope it gets better..
