It seems thereev's time is nearly up.....

on the bbs. I have been informed (source undisclosed and thank you for thank kind sir) that several whingers on the bbs want me removed permanently from here. I guess (don't really know) that will be some of the clique on here and the free speech that our fine country is famed for does not apply on here unless you are in the aforementioned clique. I find this ironic as one / some of this said clique bore the breasts off me personally, but I have never asked for the boring gits to be banned.

So if I (thereev) suddenly find myself expelled forever, the clique of this forum can be congratulated or blamed (whatever your view of 'voice of the people' thereev is).

I hope this helps folks, as it will some but not others. Adios for good maybe (that's depends on the clique I guess).

It's been a blast....but nothing lasts forever I suppose my dear followers. I will still be alive and well on twitter regardless (Jack Dorsey, Evan Williams, Biz Stone and Noah Glass don't ban people just because they don't like em apparently).

People seriously want you removed? What a set of sad acts. I mean I find some of your posts a bit tedious but like anything else that doesn't interest me I just gloss over it. People getting that wound up by someone else on the internet should probably take a break themselves tbh.

 

It confuses me slightly when people take such offence online. I know there's a line that shouldn't be crossed but it's the Internet ffs just look away if it's really bothering you.

For example, thereev's posts (and some others) have been slowly driving me to insanity with the constant negativity but I just don't read them as much anymore, it's really not hard to skip over posts.

I don't know why, but this reminds me of the celebrated case of Balogh v Crown Court at St Albans, where Mr Balogh, a law student hired for his vacation to take notes by a firm of solicitors during a particularly tedious trial, decided to enliven proceedings by releasing nitrous oxide into the courtroom. This is laughing gas of course, but as Lord Denning later obesrved, the judge, Mr Justice Melford Stevenson found it "no laughing matter". Asked by HHJ MS whether he wished to say anything before he was sentenced for contempt, Mr Balogh obliged by saying "You are a humourless automaton!". Sadly, this exercise of free speech did not avail Mr Balogh, who received six months. At least old Denning later reduced it to one month (time served) on appeal.

No point to all this of course, except to say that sadly, free speech doesn't always prevail!
