Only one team seemed to be committed to playing football and the attitude of some of their players was, at times, disgusting. Young Josh Kay did very well on his debut and can be proud of his positive contribution to what was as good a team display as I've seen for a few weeks. Both Kent & Armstrong had, I felt, their best games for us. Armstrong certainly deserved his MOTM award, but Yiadom must've ran him close. I thought Jackson, other than his penalty aberration, played well, too. In fact, for me, everyone made a positive contribution for the team. Good to see both Golbourne and Brownhill get a decent reception from the home fans. Once again, well done lads. In the face of adversity, you produced an excellent display (deserved to win, in my opinion) and showed yet again we deserve to be in the top half of the Championship and we're not carrying passengers. One very happy Happy Clapper. AGAIN.
Great effort by everyone of the Reds today, that was a joy to watch and great to see the crowd behind them like that. Onwards and upwards.
Best match this season for me. We didn't get the 3 pts we deserved, but I was really impressed with our attitude today.
Agree, enjoyed the day. I think Morsey and Yiadom ran Armstrong close. Sent via Royal Mail and typed up by my Tapatalk byatch
I agree. I also thought Morsy was outstanding and looks to be getting better with each passing game (just shows how important match fitness is). I had him down as my MoM but I have no complaints about Armstrong getting it. Yiadom also very impressive.
Hear hear. LJ should be ashamed today. His team were without doubt the most cynical team we've played all season
I expected more from Bristol. I thought their formation would cause our makeshift midfield real problems, but they just bloody lumped it and rarely posed a threat until they changed formation and got the ball down. Interesting to see a few of their fans starting to question his preference for one up front on their forum. Had Winall scored his pen I don't think there would have been a way back for them. Totally agree with this JLWBL. An entertaining and absorbing match today. Jackson a little unlucky for the goals, but there's healthy competition for those two centre back positions. Otherwise, not a bad performance on the park. Think everyone can be proud of the limited amount of stick dished out to LJ, and the reception for Brownhill - who's contribution to last season we still appreciate. A lot of class shown on and off the field today.
Very happy today. Any of Armstrong, Watkins, Kent, Morsy & Yiadom could've deservedly won man of the match, the rest were very solid especially Josh Kay who after a shaky first 15 mins settled into it & played some good passes in the second half. Didn't like the referees performance at all. O'Neil could've been sent off twice yet escaped a booking whilst Morsy got a yellow for his foul which wasn't even a bad one & nowhere near the area. Matthews & Flint of Bristol who I was under the impression we're meant to be 2 of their best players really struggled, Matthews in particular got beaten by all of Kent, Watkins & Hammill.
Me & thee with our post match debate! <img src ="http://www.lovethisgif.com/uploaded_images/77889-Statler-And-Waldorf-On-Moocs.gif">
Agree with all the sentiments above. I had Yiadom as my MOTM for his superb defending, willingness to get forward and passing, but there would be no complaints from me had the award been given to any of Kent, Armstrong or Morsy. Angus was solid again, with some lovely touches at times, and I think it's telling that we almost take this as a given despite him being so early in his Reds career. I thought we showed a lot of class on and off the pitch today. As for Bristol, what was that?! They played dirty, pure and simple, but the ref let them. LJ knows he was second best to Hecky today, and there's a lot of satisfaction in that. If only Sam had put that penalty away ...
I always enjoy reading your posts, old mate, indeed you're one of my favourite posters. But I've never known you get so aggressive before (I think you're 100% correct with all your comments, by the way). I've made a mental note never to get on your bad side. But if I do, I'll have to make sure I'm wearing my pink leotard and the rest of my wrestling gear!
I really wasn't expecting us to get anything yesterday with all the absentees we had, especially Conor, so I was very pleasantly surprised. I thought Yiadom, Kent and Armstrong were superb in the first half although Kent seemed to fade in the second. He looks very good but to play our system we need the wingers to be constantly pushing their fullbacks onto the back foot from minute one to ninety. It's the first time I've seen Armstrong in the flesh. Thought he was superb, a real joy to watch. I have to tip my hat to Hemsie on this who said he was good last year when he was at Coventry. Well he certainly looked it yesterday. Pleased with a draw and though we were struggling a bit second half I thought on chances we should have won it.
