I mentioned last week that the commentary wasn't quite in sync with the action. This is definitely the case - just watching the full match replay and during the penalty the commentary says 'Oh and Winnall can't find the net' before he has actually kicked the ball.
I'm no longer a subscriber, but one of the things that used to annoy me is that sometimes, usually when we were attacking, for no apparent reason it would just c
I'm not complaining about it...it's just an observation. I think it is a wonderful service - full home and away matches with commentary. I remember the days when the only the way you could 're-live' the match was to join the queue to buy the Green 'un. Or wait for a 20 second clip tagged on the end of Calendar.
Ah, the old Green 'Un! If there was a late goal it often didn't manage to get in the paper! As far as Player goes, I used to sing its praises too, until they started using Radio Sheffield commentary and kept leaving our game while we were attacking to report on the mascot's outfit at Hillsborough. Apparently they've changed that though, so I'm close to subscribing again.
Well I can understand that, but as I don't live in the South Yorkshire area, it doesn't bother me, though I do hear more of Keith Edward's voice than I would like. I quite like watching the match back after some of the drama queen comments on here. Honestly, I don't think the ref had a bad game (hides behind sofa).
It was mainly the off the ball stuff he failed to address properly. I haven't watched it back yet but I imagine it wasn't as clear to see.
Is it really that bad? I used to love listening to the two Tarn lads commentating, despite the technical hitches. Since I cancelled it I'm reduced to sitting with an array of live score websites on two monitors, only to find that the first inkling of a goal is when someone posts it on here. If it's for us, it's usually "Gerrin!" or something like that. If it's against us it's usually "Game Over" or similar garbage. Yep, it's about time I re-subscribed.
I've only seen the first half so far, the only things I thought he got wrong were when he booked Barnsley players but didn't book the City players for almost the same incidents. I'll view the second half tomorrow.
Does the first half video show their player picking the ball up and throwing it into the stands without getting booked? He had lost the plot by that point imo
Yes, I'd agree with that. But he was right to book the Barnsley players. The incident with Winnall looked purely accidental. He might have missed the odd other thing but the big decisions he got right.
The rugby tackle on our player as we broke upfield should always be a yellow card, no excuses for missing that !
It's a tricky task with separate audio and video tracks. But the timing is only fractionally out towards the end of the first half for some reason. Comments noted - thanks.
I have no idea how this all works but is it a case of the two running at slightly different speeds or 'simply' a case of matching one point in time exactly and then it all staying in sync?
I've been trying for 3 months to correct my DOB in my profile. Whatever I do it reverts to what is already there. I've emailed them 3 times with no success, although they did respond once and blame it on my browsers.
I never watch the replays like. Only ever really watch interviews. It's oreyt for £35 a year. Few more quid to club innit.
You'll have to bear with me here, and if the images don't show up properly but instead end up as attachments, just click on them. I felt like I had to make this point. I'll have to do each image in a separate post, so here goes....
