We would be better served by at least having the option of a forward who attacks crosses. We have Kent/ Hammill who have limited options to hit once they have beaten their man. Neither Winnall nor Bradshaw are what we need in this regard. Bradshaw links play up better than Winnall. Winnall is a better "sniffer" than Bradshaw. Neither provide a target. So the wingers have to cut inside. And shoot. Hammill is generally better at Wembley with this tactic. Kent cannot do it. They both need someone to aim at. That's what we need.
Think Bradshaw has been a tad unlucky not to feature more. Think he needs and will get a run of 3/4 games to show what he can do. He's a bloody good player. I like Armstrong and Winnall, but think perhaps it's time to give Bradshaw a run. Winnall/Bradshaw perhaps with Armstrong on bench. Hammill in for Kent. Armstrong and Kent would be lethal with 30 minutes left. Either to kill a game on the break or to run at tiring defences to get a goal back.
Also... We'll have Payne back after the break. Really like the look of him. Just needs a bit of luck and he could start firing.
Been saying same for weeks. We've missed not having him as an alternative. Sent from my SM-G850F using Tapatalk
Marley. Only he's been playing all over t'shop, since Hammill's been on t' naughty step... I wouldn't expect much from Payne. A league too far I reckon...
Why do you think that Mr C? Not having a pop just curious because I thought he looked like he took to championship like a duck to water. Strong, fast, decent touch. Like a mobile Chris O'Grady really.
Apart from setting up the QPR winner, I haven't seen him do much else to be honest. Fitness levels are my concern, he was puffing after 5 minutes v Rovrum... And I always thought CoG was quite mobile, Payne looks awkward in comparison... I'm usually wrong so don't fret. Probly be POTY, nar...
Watkins and O'Grady are different animals. O' Grady turns things into a slow strength fest. Sometimes it works. Watkins perhaps does the same things each week, and it works or it doesn't. Or Watkins is crap one week, and then good the next. Today he was unremarkable.
Always rated COG. Good player at this level. That said, when Payne is back, I think we have excellent options with Winnall, Armstrong, Bradshaw & Marley. Probably the best forward line we've had since Shipperley / Dyer / Sheron
Or alternatively let's cull creative discussion and not bother with doing anything other than thinking that what we've got is the end of the rainbow. If you think that my post involved picking our forwards to bits, then please tell me where I went wrong.
Puffing against Rotherham? Thats ******** he got injured 2 minutes after coming on and stayed on the field 3 minutes. Why just make things up? Hes looked really sharp in every game hes played and also very quick. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
I don't know if you went to Huddersfield away but on that day he almost hauled the 3 points back single handed. We looked numb going forward in the first half, but then when Stefan was brought on we suddenly stepped up 3 gears. With his pace, strength, runs in behind & determination they just didn't know what to do with him. From the first game of Pre-Season to Rotherham he was absolute class. We always look better with him on the field. I can't help but think that some of our fans have already made a judgement about him based on where we signed him from, despite the likes of Vardy Lambert & Austin in recent years.
He wasnt even on the pitch 5 minutes and he certainly wasn't puffing thats just completely made up like where have you even pulled that from. Literally he got injured straight away. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
