Why does UK tv feel the need to submerge us in this USA election thing?

For months ahead we are made to appear to be interested in everything american, as if we care.
Bet the american tv companies can't wait to start showing the next UK general election six months in advance. I imagine we would barely get a mention even on election day.
FFS, stop making us watch this crap, give us our own news back. I wonder how much important stuff is being shoved through under the surface?
We could wake up tomorrow finding that Corbyn is now in charge, Sheffield Wednesday are in Europe, and that I am actually much better looking than I was yesterday. All nightmare scenarios.

If you don't think that man being elected is important news the news isn't for you.

Yes, it's news, I get that..... and it's probably not good news !
The point I'm making is that we have to endure months and months and months of utter tosh forced down our necks.
Thank god for the remote control.

The reason? When America catches influenza the rest of the world catches cold..

Like it or not, even though the USA is fast being overtaken by the Far Eastern economies it is still one of the richest nations on Earth and we all feel its influence.

    You should try CBBC.

I've just followed your advice and switched over to it. I have to say it was crap, although I struggled to understand a lot of it.

I turned over to CBBC on Imer Red's advice, but it was a bit over my head. I know that that Tramp bloke won the erection, but I've not watched any of it, I can't summon up the slightest bit of interest in it.

Be careful if you take something I say or write seriously. Only 12% of it is actually true.
