Victory. From Jonathan Pie. Contains a lot of swearing... Even though I agree with practically very word Pie has ever spoke, I also feel well taken to task....
Not saying I agree with everything this bloke sez, but for a bit of balance. footnote - as an individual, Trump scares the **** out of me. http://peterjnorth.blogspot.co.uk/
At bloody last, someone who talks common sense, and even better, a Brit who divorces himself from the nanny state that Britain has become. BTW I've been saying this for the last year (without the swearing) so it was no surprise to me that Trump won.
yes admin a few posters on here should take note about being abusive just because someone is not of the same opinion as them
I can't disagree with him , I consider myself to be well left of centre , certainly on social issues...being accused of racism or being told I am being duped into supporting racist agenda's , after spending my whole adult life opposing racism , only serves to weaken the credibility and thought process behind the counter argument .....not only that it p***es me off . As far as the celebrity endorsement issue...Sir Bob on the Thames giving the V signs probably lost Remain a few thousand votes . Trump got elected because he was up against a candidate equally mired in s**t , just different s**t, ..and Clinton's pseudo superior campaign...." when they go low , we go high" was exposed for what it was....as demonstrated by her not very high campaign against Bernie Sanders .
Have to agree with most of that. The only way to combat idiotic decisions like the US have just made is through debate, information and education. Too many simply read what they believe will reinforce their views and believe what they are told from those sources without question or analysis. Which brings us back to education. In the West we get the quality of education we're prepared to pay for and unfortunately the vast majority would rather have a penny knocked off income tax than a better education system. I have to say though that if you're too embarrassed to admit outside the polling booth what you're voting for surely there must be some f***ing alarm bells ringing in your head that you're maybe putting a cross in the wrong box!
He's coming to Sheffield City Hall soon (Jonathan pie not Trump) to do his act there. Worth getting tickets from what I've seen on YouTube.
He's absolutely spot on. You only have to read Twitter or virtually any post on here to understand his point and see that he is bang on the money.
you say you have to agree with most of that, as do I, fair comment but then you come out and say " idiotic decision" branding trump voters as idiots, don't you see the irony in that statement ?. now bear in mind you have no idea what journey through life that persons X has had to make toget it onto the ballot paper but there you are condemning them as idiots ( i'm not saying they are/are not idiots) i'm just saying that they have made their democratic choice. the education thing is sort of a double edged sword as boris Johnson went to a top school and got a degree, hes a very educated man and to be honest he'd be 1st on my list for a pi55 up if just for entertainment value ( the kipper Jackson of politics) and lastly, there should be no alarm bells ringing if you voted for what YOU think is right. that's just my opinion on the matter
And the greatest irony is that had a right winger said exactly the same thing they'd have been called an evil, Tory loving bigot. Food for thought.
Spot on with all that is wrong with the left at the minute. I'm as far left as socialist and I had a conversation with a friend of indian origin and she was basically accusing me of being a racist for even asking why 20 odd percent of hispanics voted trump, or why not all white voters who voted trump are racist since in places like Wisconsin and Michigan they voted Obama in for two terms before Trump. It's pathetic and I'm sick of these polarised politics
I know I bang on a bit (well a lot actually) as I am stubborn enough not to be silenced by the handful of left wingers on here who scream racist at whoever raises valids discussion points about, for example, uncontrolled migration Case in point is the thread on here about victory march for Trump where someone implies the KKK should be banned (ironic anyway as Trunmp hates the KKK) Anyway my argument was about the 1st Amendment and Freedom of speech and I pointed out several time in the thera that I find the KKK abhorrent. Cue accusastions from the usual rabid crowd that I "support the KKK". Funny how the same righteous indignation from the posters did not extend to condemnation of the "Not my President" riots that broke out in various cities in the US resulting in windows being smashed cars set on fire etc. etc. Hypocrites the lot of them. Not one has EVER responded in a sensible as to my challenge for them to provide a solution to Mass uncontrolled migration in the numbers we have seen over the past few years other than the mantra Migrants benefity the economy. That only applies when the migranst in question added value and were not reliant on the state and the infrastructure could support the influx. That is NOT the case now but they fail to acknowledge that without the usual racist abuse. Anyway from now on any accusations of racist aimed at me in posts on here will be responded to with a with a one word expletive
I think he's got it spot on. Also, for those on the left condescendingly screaming racists, misogynists, bigots, etc. against their opponents, they're one side of the same coin as those from the right who bluster on about bleeding heart liberals, loonie lefties, 'you're only voting Labour because that's what your Father did' ignorance. The truth sometimes hurts and this bloke has really nailed it, for me.
I don't criticise anyone having the opposite political, socio-economic viewpoint to myself, as they're just as entitled to their opinions as I am & I'm as left wing as you can get. It's laughable, though, for anyone with right of centre views to attempt to take the moral high ground on this issue with their criticisms. If it's wrong for the left to persistently be abusive to their opponents (without attempting to engage and debate), then it's equally wrong for the right to do the same thing.
