As promised, this is a statement of the latest financial position regarding the fund raising for the Patrick Cryne flag.

Both PayPal and Crowd Funding take a significant commission from the amounts. For PayPal it's 3.4% (which is why I can't believe how many people use it!) and for Crowd Funding it's 6%. I'm not totally sure how this commission is deducted, so the figures below are estimates until we get a full breakdown.

Anyway, here goes: -

Total value donated on Crowd Funding = £1051.00
PayPal commission 3.4% taken off donations = £35.73
Net Crowd Fund value = £1051.00 - £35.73 = £1015.27
Crowd Funding commission 6% = £60.92
Net funds to be returned to us = £1015.27 - £60.92 = £954.35
Direct donations (Brush, Anon, Lepton Red, me) = £140.00
Latest fund value = £954.35 + £140.00 = £1094.35

Flag cost already paid = £1054.80
Surplus as at 15th November 2016 = £1094.35 - £1054.80 = £39.55

One more poster, Robledo, has pledged a donation but for some reason he can't get my PM. If anyone knows him could they "prod" him. If anyone else wants to make a donation please email me ianfletcher@wtnet.de for the bank account details.

The final surplus will be donated to a charity of our choice. I suggest we leave that until the date of the Forest match, 25th November, to give more time for a few stragglers to donate.

Thank you to everyone for a magnificent effort!

I echo that.

I hope to be able to close the crowdfunder today (waiting to hear from their support) and trigger collection of the funds.

Update

I've had a response from CrowdFunder and as a result I've posted an update. All contributors should get an email confirming project closure tomorrow (16th). Upon closure, all pledges will be collected and the full proceeds (after the deductions outlined above) will be paid by me directly to Stahlrost as soon as I get them.

If anyone wants to buy me a pint, I'll be the smug looking old git in the jeans, black fake leather jacket and "Neil Redfearn" style BFC shirt on saturday.....

Updated Figures 16 November 2016

There have been a few last minute donations overnight, boosting the fund. The latest figures are: -

Total value donated on Crowd Funding = £1091.00
PayPal commission 3.4% taken off donations = £37.09
Net Crowd Fund value = £1091.00 - £37.09 = £1053.91
Crowd Funding commission 6% = £63.23
Net funds to be returned to us = £1053.91 - £63.23 = £990.67
Direct donations (Brush, Anon, Lepton Red, me) = £140.00
Latest fund value = £990.67 + £140.00 = £1130.67

Flag cost already paid = £1054.80
Surplus as at 16th November 2016 = £1130.67 - £1054.80 = £75.87

Further updates will be provided if anything changes, in the meantime please PM me if you want to contribute, as the Crowd Funding is about to be closed. Thanks lads and lasses.

Crowdfunder closed - Roll of Honour

The crowdfunder is now closed and I have received payments from the following people, many thanks for your generosity. If your name isn't here and you pledged, then according to crowdfunder there has been some sort of problem with getting the funds from your PayPal. In that case please login to your PayPal account and check what's happened.

Proud of you all.

Alright mate. I'm not on your list.

Just checked my PayPal and the money has just come out today. Unsure why as it was over a week ago that I donated. So maybe others will be the same as me.

Hi Archey, the money isn't taken till the project is closed, you only pledged the money last week. Can you PM me with the details (your full name, amount and time it was taken will do). That goes for anyone else in the same situation.

I'm not on the list but I had an email saying that the payment has been made. I'm not sure how else for you to do it Brush but I don't think writing people's real name on here is a good idea. I know I've put mine a few times so I'm sure most people know who I am but some people may wish to remain anonymous either in general or just in terms of them having made a donation.

Check the new list I just posted, I'd managed to miss a couple.

There's no connection between the names and BBS accounts so nobody knows who they are, just a list of names.

Fantastic and really looking forward to seeing it on the TV. Best news of all is that I've accidentally donated from my wife's PayPal account.

Updated Figures 17 November 2016

I'm afraid I was somewhat optimistic with my estimates for the two previous updates, as the amounts deducted from the fund by PayPal and Crowd Funding are significantly higher than expected. Also, it could be that not all donations have actually been paid, for whatever reason. The good news is that I've had a further generous direct donation, which has boosted the fund. The latest figures are: -

Crowd Funding total donations = £1091.00
Deductions (see below for detail) = -£233.00
Net amount received from Crowd Funding = £1091.00 - £233.00 = £858.00
Direct donations (Brush, Anon, Lepton Red, Robledo) = £190.00
Net value of flag purchase fund = £858.00 + £190.00 = £1048.00

Purchase price of flag (already paid) = £1054.80
Surplus = £1048.00 - £1054.80 = £6.80.

Therefore there is now a small shortfall of £6.80, which I've paid myself as promised, and I've shut down the Curry Mahal Stahlrost Tandoori Trust Fund which currently stands at £0.00.

This means there is no surplus to pay to any other charity, as originally hoped, but if any more donations come in or if the "missing" donations turn up, we will make this clear on here.

For those interested, I've included a summary below of how the deductions are calculated: -

PayPal charge 3.4% of each donation, plus 20p per donation. For example, a donation of £5 carries a commission charge of 37p, a donation of £50 carries a charge of £1.90. Now you know why I don't use PayPal and never will.

Crowd Funding charge 6% of the GROSS donation (i.e. BEFORE the PayPal deduction). For example, a donation of £5 carries a charge of 30p, a donation of £50 has a charge of £3. I find it bizarre that they calculate the commission on amounts which were never actually received, but there you are!

The result of all this is that the amount donated of £1091 has resulted in £858 being paid out. This is a huge shortfall of £233, of which £65.46 is Crowd Funding commission and £37.09 is PayPal 3.4% commission, leaving £130.45. I can't exactly work out the 20p per donation PayPal commission as I don't know how many individual donations have been made, but there about 89 names on Brush's list, which equates to £17.80. Therefore there is still a shortfall of £112.65, so it seems that some donations may not have gone through yet. Brush is investigating this.

If anyone has donated but their payment has not gone through, please contact me or Brush via PM. Thanks.

Updated Figures 18 November 2016

Right, despite my depressive post yesterday, the situation has now improved, thanks to some great chasing work from Brush. As a result, Crowd Funding have "found" some more donations and remitted them to us. There is now 1 donation of £20 still missing, but Brush has very kindly covered that so the full total of Crowd Funding has now been received. We now have a decent profit to donate to a suitable charity. The latest figures are: -

Crowd Funding total donations = £1091.00
Deductions (PayPal and Crowd Funding commission) = -£121.26
Net amount received from Crowd Funding = £1091.00 - £121.26 = £969.74
Direct donations (Brush, Anon, Lepton Red, Robledo, Gladius111, me) = £200.00
Net value of flag purchase fund = £969.74 + £200.00 = £1169.74

Purchase price of flag (already paid) = £1054.80
Surplus = £1169.74 - £1054.80 = £114.94

The profit of £114.94 will be donated to a charity of our choice on or around the 24th November. Suggestions for a suitable charity most welcome.

Thank you once again to all who contributed to this great project.
