I am currently working out in Southern Argentina, we visited a small charming Chilean border town called Puerto Natales last week. Whilst there we visited a restaurant for some lunch. There was a match on. Wow. The atmosphere inside the restaurant was incredible the locals, men women and children were all really up for the game. Needless to say i have since found out the games between Colo Colo and CD Universidad Catolica are the equivalent of our Manchester Derby in the UK! The game had everything, two penalties, a red card and four goals! finished up 2-2. The football itself was really exciting to watch open and expansive with some great talent on show. I have no doubt the fitness side of things would be a problem for most of the players coming across the England, but the flair and technical ability cannot be denied. Great to watch and would recommend it. I was more affixed with watching that game than i have any English games on sky recently. Excluding ours of course :)
Now the question name our former South American players and you're memories of them?

I love South American football - I watch quite a bit in the late evening, and Chile has some great high-scoring games. For the big games, the bookies could have an Over/Under 0.5 Riots market :)

Saw Neymar almost single handedly demolish Bolivar in the Copa Liberatadores a few years back. I think it was something like 6-0 at half time. I also remember another game where it was called off after someone threw a military grade firework on the pitch - it left a crater!

    These?

The Robledo brothers - Weren't they Chillean? Way before my time.
Anderson de Silva - Brazil great tackle to win the ball before Devaney crossed for Foster at Anfield, or am I getting confused with Odejayi's goal against Chelsea?
Dennis Sousa - Brazil - headband....
Miguel Mostto - Mexico? lightweight played twice I think scored one goal, never saw him play
Hugo Colace - Argentina. Decent player, almost made an emotional return last season - we may have dodged a bullet there...
Diego Arismendi ??? Never saw him play

    Can't think of any more.

Robledo brothers. Way before my time. Anderson de Silva, Miguel Mossto; Denis Souza; Hugo Colace. All had their plus points. Pity Miguel didn't work out.

I forgot about Dennis Souza, i liked him. a little slow a times mind. I think Mostto was Peruvian. Arismendi just seems like a wasted talent, watched him a few times before and after and saw flashes of brilliance.

That's the one I've been trying to remember... Oh and Corbo - thanks to Jedi One.

I saw neither of them play so I can make no comment.
