just listening to footie heaven , few people ringing up slagging john stones , seems its all his fault England are poor , admittedly I am biased but everyone seems to be criticising the lad .
He does mess about with the ball far too much. I know its the way his club manager wants him to play but I find myself cringing everytime he gets the ball. Brilliant player, but wont be a great player unless he cuts out the mistakes. Top lad tho
This is exactly the problem with English football though. Carbon copy coaching, resulting in carbon copy players. All averagely doing the same things. Then someone like Stones comes along, with a bit of raw talent, and skill, and gradually, at the hands of a baying mob he'll have it drummed out of him, and coached out of him. I'd be willing to bet that Stones makes less mistakes than the other Centre Halves available for selection. Yes, he will make the odd howler, but what he does bring is something bordering on unique in this country. A central defender so comfortable on the ball that he draws players, and frees up team-mates. He should have gone abroad in my opinion, because English football fans are so unforgiving of odd mistakes that they fail to see the glaringly obvious unusual talent in front of them.
who gives a ****... we got our pound of flesh which is what most on here have been demanding since he left.
Re: who gives a ****... we got our pound of flesh What do you expect it's all Wednesday fans that ring in and they've produced absolutely zilch from their academy. Even their hero is a Dingle and from the Dingle youth set up.
He's admitted himself he needs to work out when to play it from the back and when to boot it, not done that yet.
He's only good at passing the ball to Hart now. It's a shame what the coaching staff are doing to him. No imagination and no attacking balls from defence. Just tip tap at the back.
Stones consensus on Twitter at the moment isn't very complementary. Search 'Stones' and 100+ slagging him off, not a single in his defence.
That's a shame because he's won a fair few headers that jagielka and Smalling generally let float over their heads. As already stated, some won't be happy until he's hoofing the ball out towards our tiny forwards.
Just got back from a few days in benidorm. Was in a bar and got talking to an absolute tw@t of an Everton fan who claimed he had not missed a single Everton game, competitive or friendly anywhere in the world for 22 years. Apparently he's a project manager on the railways and earns £1k a day and he just got his son a job on £2k per week. He lives in a huge house in Liverpool and dives a 80k car. why the **** did I need to know this or even care Anyway John Stones is ****, can't pass, tackle or read the game, he's the most over rated player in the world, and he should know because he's seen every game he's ever played for Everton. Not missed a game for 22 years holgate is 100 x the player Stones is and will go for more than Stones. There you that's the opinion of an expert.
Stones consensus on twitter now - His best performance and motm Seems options change depending on what commentators are saying.
Cahill, Smalling & Jagielka have all made more mistakes than him this season but nothing gets highlighted. There's a clear agenda
My definition - somebody who knows nothing about actually doing the job in question, but likes to give orders out to those that do. Complete (well maybe not complete) waste of space and their massive over-use in British Industry is destroying it from within. Basically a "good project manager" knows how to blame others for things going wrong and talk bulls**t to management who then think the sun shines out of his derriere because he knows all the buzz words. I had my fill of them when I worked for Jaguar, whilst quietly just getting on with the actual work....
