http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/37998768 I'm guessing the new EFL Trophy format will swiftly follow..
No shock there. It was only this week it was announced football league crowds are at a record high (despite silly prices), so the 72 clubs would have taken a lot of presuading to lose games just so new teams could benefit by being added to the system.
They will keep trying this kind of ****. The biggest rule change needs to be on squad sizes. I fear the nettle will never be grasped though....
I think it's safe to assume that the introduction of a 5th division was to incorporate B teams. And that it has been scrapped due to the ailing attendances in the EDL Keith Chegwin trade trophy. #TeamsLikeBarnsley
As long as that lovely person keeps his clothes on we'll be alright. He is a knob of the lowest order....
That was ruled out. It's only been thrown out because the FA have no decided to rescind their offer of moving the FA Cup to midweek games to create room for more league match Saturdays...the FA have rescinded the offer because they have signed a lucrative foreign TV deal.
Your right squad sizes need limiting but it will never happen. Poor man city and Chelsea wouldn't be able to hoard players and loan out 40 odd players per season.
Pleased that is has fallen through, due to the shocking attendances at the B team games. But it frustrates me, that anyone with half a brain could have predicted that it wouldn't work, so why don't the football league appoint anybody with half a brain, then they wouldn't come up with this stupid crap in the first place.
Quite, not looking after the interests of the game at large, just after the cash. Thankfully on this occasion, greed and avarice have led to the right decision.
