The temptation is to say, what a ******* waste, but how many of us live up to their potential?

I'm currently high on pain killers, drinking alcohol when the packets specifically tell me not to, so I can get a better buzz, smoking rollies and reading the BBS. So I haven't just lived up to my potential, I've ******* exceeded it! Have that those that doubted me. I'm an achiever!

It wasn't fat, it was muscle. Ask Hemsy. His belly muscle was huge.

Easy to be judgemental isn't it. I eat an extremely healthy diet, exercise every day, and although I like my ale I keep my consumption of that very much in check as well. And yet, it seems that all I have to do is look at a burger and I put on half a stone. It's just the way it is and always has been. Now, granted if I was training full time rather than doing a sedentary job I'd definitely be a lot slimmer, but Jennings isn't actually that overweight compared with the majority of the population. He's just quite chubby for a professional footballer, especially a winger. Couple that with the fact that it seems quite clear that he's got some psychological issues getting in his way, and it's sadly not that surprising that he is where he is. He appears to put on weight easily, as do many of us. It's apparent that his mental state isn't in the place where it should be. Also not uncommon, especially for a young man (which I'm sadly all too aware of due to things that have happened to people close to me which I wouldn't wish on anyone). Does this mean that Dale Jennings should be mocked and ridiculed, or does it just make him human? Personally, I'd love to see him get back into the game, even if it's just playing in the Conference and helping Tranmere get back into the league. I wish him well in his struggles with the issues which have clearly been holding him back.

No one just "has to look at a burger" to put on weight. If you eat fewer calories than you use, you lose weight. And when you're training as a footballer day in day out that's a hell of a lot of calories. He might have mental issues which need treating but let's not pretend it's his metabolism or "genetics" because it just isn't. It's overeating.

I'm not for a minute suggested that Jennings hasn't fcked up. However, different people do metabolise calories in a different way, and are more prone to putting on weight than others. Jennings falls into that category. He's probably eating the wrong sort of stuff as well, which exacerbates the issue.

He's on Twitter. Looks like he was doing some training with a personal coach in August from a photo on his feed. Got two lovely kids.

His last interview was in February, where he said he was training hard with his personal trainer and getting fit again. That was nearly 10 months ago. I wonder how long he thinks he needs? People have returned from career-threatening injuries in that length of time. I get the impression he isn't really surrounded by the right people.

I'm not aware whether there is or not, but quoting a 24 year old paper hardly offers conclusive evidence...

i remember bumping into him and their lass in asda, when he was with us. trolley just loaded with $hite. i said to him in joke "should you be eating all that"? He just laughed and said "it's not for me mate". their lass was about a size 8 and the little un was about 6 weeks old, so i dunno who it was meant for..
