Mike Tyson became the youngest ever heavyweight world champion by destroying Trevor Berbick into another galaxy.

The hardest ******* on the planet.

Sadly Don King, money, fame and women ruined him.

    30 years. Scary.

I remember his bursting onto the heavyweight scene and literally battering all before him. He was fearsome and seemed to have fighters beaten before they even got into the ring with him. Like you say he was ruined by other factors which is a shame because his legacy as a great heavyweight is tarnished.

I can't believe it is 30 years ago.

I mean the guy knocked Berbick over 3 times with one punch.

Tyson v Bruno first tometround when Big Frank was the first fighter ever to rock Tyson.

Arry Carpenter was willing Frank on to follow him up but he couldnt.

It's great to be able to watch so much live sport nowadays (at a cost) , but I used to love it back when snooker and boxing matches used to fill the TV room in our local club.

Match of the day, Sportsnight and good owd Fred Drainage and Martin Tyler on a Sunday afternoon were always looked forward to.

Fa Cup final on both BBC and ITV at the same time and we would watch all the build up from the teams at their hotels to lifting the cup.

Not as much sport on telly back then so the big occasions were a bit more special.

There's no doubt he was exciting & his name will live forever but he's a convicted rapist, has no top quality wins & quit on numerous occasions.

I cringe every time I hear phrases like 'peak Tyson was the best ever' & seeing others idolise him.

Peak Tyson would wipe the floor of any heavyweight from the last 20 years in my opinion.
